*light synth* hey whats up

Over the past two years, I've straight up ghosted a fair number of people that I've known for years. At the time, my reasoning was (and largely still is) that "nothing productive would come from me explaining how our personalities have become incompatible over time."

I don't think it's anyones fault, but I know that people change over time and these gradual shifts can become radical shifts on a long enough timeline

Speaking in broad generalizations is one thing, but constantly acting as a source of bad faith generalizations for any convenient demographic became unfathomably draining. Maybe it would have been tolerable if it were only a Real Life situation, but it was happening all over social medias as well.

I don't have an interest in maintaining connections with people that are determined to view said convenient demographics as "fair game" scapegoats when they get mad or something bad happens (Aside from the ultra wealthy, let's be real.)

I know that I don't have any grounds or authority to even suggest how people frame the thoughts they speak out loud, but I do know that I don't have to subject myself to these constant streams of negativity.

The tradeoff is that while my immediate surroundings have become more peaceful and less "let's find something to bitch about for the next two days," I've found that I was apparently surrounded by these personality types.

My surroundings are only "peaceful" because there's no one else around anymore.

But I've said it before, I'm sure I'll say it again.
