I'm Omar Fathi, a father of four children, enduring extreme hardships in the Gaza war. I want to escape this torment. My four children, the eldest of whom is not older than 7 years, are suffering from severe fear. Sham, aged 6, is the oldest, and she's deeply afraid. Then there's Alina, aged 5, who can't sleep from fear. My son Kareem, 3 years old, hasn't experienced a beautiful day, as fear and death loom around him. The youngest, born just 7 days before the war, is named Fathi, meaning he sleeps unaware, and I can't even provide enough food for him.

My son Karim found a way to bring some joy to his day by playing with whatever he could find in the displacement camp. Watching him create a game out of nothing but scraps is a powerful reminder of a child's resilience and imagination.
