RETHINKING & RESTRATEGIZING ENDSARS PROTEST. The recent protest all over the nation by the youth is a very important element in creating the needed change that our nation requires. Though at the initial stage it was just one agenda. As things progress the agenda has expanded and that is good. However at this stage, there is need to rethink the way forward. Being on the street is a fundamental part of any struggle, but it is important that there must be preparation for the think tank strategist among the young people to start putting heads together and pen down their thoughts in a structured and intelligent manner. Some of us were part of the young people that fought the struggle during military era and we know the two part is needed. The street mob action and the intellectual components must be seen as two sides of the same battle sword. The time has come for all the intellectuals among the young people to rise up and take the lead in this struggle. If they don't, then the miscreants will hijack the process and what we experienced at Osogbo, Edo and some parts of Lagos will be the next order of the day. To allow that is to waste the good momentum that this protest has gathered so far. I want to also call on all well meaning opinion leaders in different cities and states across the nation to identify with the young people in their areas. We are to take responsibility to offer support and some guide to the young minds. We are not necessarily to lead them but we can offer useful advice that can guide. In my little corner, I have taken the responsibility to identify with all the youth groups in my state offering useful advice to as many of them as possible. I was out again today to do the same with another youth group in my city, "OMO OWA, OMO EKUN" youth group and other groups that are staging a protest rally today at ilesa. My advice to them again was same as usual. I emphasized the need to maintain peaceful protest. And I am glad that the leaders of the different factions that came together were also more than willing to play their roles in ensuring the protest remain peaceful.
