This scene just popped into my head one night. I have no clue why Heero is crying, but you know it has to be bad. You have to figure that because of his training/upbringing, and all the horrors he’s seen, there would be a point where his emotions would come crashing down around him, and he’d have no idea what to do with them. (I almost hate to put a note of levity in here, but whatever. Heero crying and looking at Quatre almost like he doesn’t understand… I kept thinking of the episode of Pinky and the Brain when Brain starts crying, but he’s confused by it, and says, “Pinky, My face is leaking!”)
Anyway, I just wanted to get this sketched out, so I wasn’t too bothered with the composition of the whole page. (Obviously). It’s just your standard left-to-right. There may or may not be dialogue going on. If anyone wants to think up what they’re saying, if anything, feel free. I…really have no idea.
I have SO MANY thoughts.

Quatre was the one who rescued Heero from OZ after he’d been in captivity for a presumably long time. And after both had lost their mind to ZERO, so Quatre KNOWS what it was like for Heero when forced to pilot that damn thing.
Quatre is the one who took Heero back to Earth. He was with him while they both recovered under the mercy for Count Townsend, a kind OZ commander. Quatre was with him later, in Sanq, too, when they FINALLY had some downtime, not to mention privacy, to process it all.
I can totally see this being a scene where Quatre walks into Heero’s dorm room in Relena’s school, to check up on him, and finds him like this. My baby has been through so much. Sitting alone in a dark room could be triggering after being on the run for so long. It might even trigger traumatic memories from the time he was locked up in a dark room by OZ.
Anyway, this artwork really touched me. I have so many feels. It’s beautiful.
