Third born to Carla and Gregory Hoffman, Oliver made sure he was never lost in the crowd. The second born son; he knew the role he was born into, one where he was let off the hook because of his age but also where he was expected to help out with his baby sister.
The third child in a chaotic household had dealt over a hand where he knew he had big shoes to fill. So from a young age, he tried his best to mirror Ethan in certain aspects. Despite being the middle child, he was polite and respectful, at least to his elders. To his peers, he became the kid who was perfect on the outside - popular, handsome, good at sports, and was a nice guy.
But deep down inside, some of his classmates knew that that was merely a facade built upon never wanting to disappoint his folks or his brother. He made good grades, played in the school band, and even played sports. So by the time college came around, he was able to scrounge up enough scholarships to afford four years at Chapman.
Coming from a house filled with kids, it meant a lot to him to be able to give back. He didn't want to become a doctor as that would be trying to mirror his brother to a point so he went into social work. While in college, he worked at Equestrian Estates in order to save up enough money to pay for grad school. This way he could feel self-sufficient and afford the time in between classes and studying to earn a wage.
He earned his degree in Social Work (LCSW) from Chapman and then received an offer for a position at the homeless shelter. He works with people of all ages; always trying to be as helpful as he could. His talent on the guitar is especially helpful with some of the younger kids to help them calm down.
He now lives in an apartment in downtown Kismet, sharing it with his dog Pearl (who can be seen running alongside him at times). Though he still has that facade of being well put together, there are sometimes cracks that can be seen by those who really see through him.
