It is interesting to see logo development, and how one circular shape can alter so much from one to the next.

Another unusual spin on the double page business card.

Looking into editorial is useful in laying out the text on my cards. The large text in this design really stood out for me as something I want to develop. There is a good balance in what to make large text and what to keep smaller. Hierarchy. 

A clever way of adding more space. This might be costly, however it is something to experiment with in my development. It would fit the style as the cards are to give information, so to be able to open out as a leaflet would be useful. This is a very clever design.

The card holder at the top give the look an overall finish. Because these cards are for the emergency services, they need to be as professional possible. Information could be included on the back of the slip which would give extra room.

Because I have a lot of text to include in the design, perhaps a double page card would be more useful in getting more information on. This clever design takes the double page business cards and puts a clever spin on it, by adding a cut out.

The cards are to hand out to emergency service units incase they believe someone is as risk to fire, they can refer them for a home visit from the fire service. Therefor the cards need to contain large amounts of text on a small scale. I believe text tightly squeezed can be really effected and I will try designs similar to above. The contrast of the white and black and strong pop of colour works well when the type is compacted so tightly.

The use of strong colour is important on business cards. Because you are working on a small scale you have to make them as eyecatching as possible. 

I am looking into how typography can be used strongly in business cards. These designs show how the type is eyecatching and grabs your attention. Large stretched text works effectively like this on a small scale.

Brand guidelines is key to making sure the brand identity always remains the same. Giving rules on how the use the fonts, colour and logo will make sure it is used correctly. I aim to display the brand guidelines as a digital format, however I may experiment with creating an editorial or poster/zine. These pages show a clever grid format with clean, neat spaces. 

Looking into other sports branding.

The brand target is an obvious choice to compare. I will have to be careful to make sure they don’t appear too similar. Because the letters of soccashot are circular, this means i can incorporate the logo within the wordmark, something that will make it different to the target logo.

This is an effective way of using the positive and negative space together to create a logo. The fact the letters are tight makes the illusion of them moving together. By kerning the letters of designs you can create a wordmark which means the logo will not just be a font. For this brand, being sports related, it is important to get the right kerning to give the illusion of moving. 

All these logos use circler designs, yet all look completely different. It is important to make sure my design isn’t very similar to another that exists and I can make sure of this through colour tones, and the overall layout of the target. I will experiment with gradients and structure in my development.

Another look into golden ratio.

The idea of the sport is to create a target with white and yellow chalk onto a wall, and to try and shoot the ball at the target. This target can work as a logo to create a brand identity. The font needs to represent the target also, by giving it a circular aesthetic. A font similar to avant garde or futura would be appropriate, and i will develop both. The golden ratio, shown here, is vital to creating a well circular design. It is important to make sure all circles are related together regards size and space apart.
