-Ā āIn the beginning, God...ā - nobody tells us where God came from, He just is
-Ā āGod createdā - God did ALL of this Himself; God is, of course, the first subject of the first sentence in the Bible
Nothing happens by chance, God is in charge of everything always
-Ā ācreatedā - out of NOTHING; man is only able to create something out of preexisting things, but not God
- God is without beginning or end; He was there before the creation of the Earth and will be there after the destruction of it (Psalm 90:1-2)
-Ā āwithout form and voidā - God always knew what He was going to do
-Ā ādarknessā - without God, there is darkness
-Ā āAnd God saidā - whatever God says, goes; He didnāt have to physically make light, He just has to say something and it will be
-Ā āand there was lightā - there was no sun yet, meaning light is more than a physical substance
-Ā āgoodā - all of Godās creation is good
God is the one to defineĀ āgoodā first
-Ā āseparated the light from the darknessā - God separates light and dark physically AND spiritually
God is separate from His creation

-Ā āthe first dayā - God created in six days as WE think of days (24 hours)
1:6-8 (day 2 of creation)
-Ā āwaters from the watersā - clouds and water on the ground
- God made and named Heaven
-Ā āAnd it was so.ā - again, God only has to speak for something to be in existence
1:9-10 (day 3 of creation)
- God named and created Earth and seas
-Ā āAnd God saw that it was good.ā - Godās definition ofĀ āgoodā is different than ours (Earthly minds donāt think like God)
- God sprouted fully-grown plants that had the ability to produce seeds
-Ā āaccording to its kindā - God allowed variation within a kind, but something of one kind will never develop into something of another kind
1:14-19 (day 4 of creation)
-Ā āAnd God made two great lights...ā - God knew exactly where to put everything for a habitable Earth
If the sun was even one mile closer to us, Earth would be inhabitable
- God also made stars - He knows exactly how many there are and their names
1:20-23 (day 5 of creation)
- God made sea creatures and birds; He told them to multiply and fill the Earth
- there was no evolution, God created them fully grown and perfect
in other words, the chicken definitely came before the egg!
-Ā āAnd God blessed themā - just like he blessed the disciples
1:24-25 (day 6 of creation)
- God created livestock, creeping things, and beasts of the Earth
- again, there is NO evolution
-Ā āLet us make man in our image, after our likeness.ā - plural; referring to the Holy Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit)
-Ā āin our imageā - humans, like God, have personality, morality, and spirituality
- the difference between man and woman are good and meaningful
āA man is absolutely superior at being a man. A woman is absolutely superior at being a woman. But when a man tries to be a woman or a woman tries to be a man, you have something inferior.ā -Enduring Word
-Ā āBehold, I have given you...ā - God gave Adam everything he could ever need, yet he still sinned (Genesis 3:6)
