I feel like most in the area have already heard this a million times, but in case anyone hasn't: Please don't stack rocks when you're out hiking or otherwise enjoying the mountains.
After Helene, this is even more important. Hellbenders and other animals have already been disturbed by the storm. We have to do what we can to avoid contributing to that disruption, and leaving stones as they are whenever possible (in the water or on land) is a part of that.
