I'm going to queue this every day for the next month. The fact that people are barely paying attention to this at all is... I don't even know what to say, I really don't.

Images released from morgues leave little doubt that some wounded citizens were shot in the head while hospitalized and undergoing medical treatment. It is evident that, had these individuals sustained fatal head wounds on the streets, there would have been no reason to admit them to hospital or begin treatment in the first place.

i've said this before and i will say it again: more women need to become atheists. religion does not benefit us in any way and atheist spaces are full of misogynistic moids. we need to be the majority and lead the conversations. it is in our best interest to stay away from religion and fight to keep it away from laws and education and healthcare.

totally, I have no idea how surgery on a child's genitals is justified for ANY non-emergency reason (*tiny exception for undescended testicles that will become cancerous if not treated)

There should be universal stand-your-ground laws for female abuse victims. Once a man threatens your life and you have evidence of domestic abuse, you should be allowed to kill on sight with zero legal consequences the next time he comes to your house or place of work when you told him to stay away. Police are notoriously useless, even in first-world countries. When a man is stalking and harassing you, nobody cares until you're dead. Men who physically abuse women men are likely to eventually kill. How much more femicide are we supposed to take? Why should women just be sitting ducks waiting for their abuser to decide to kill them with no help from the police?

If it's bad enough for you to take out a restraining order, it's bad enough that anyone violating that order can get shot with very few questions being asked about it.

i’m a female ultradistance runner and i always assumed that i was hurting my heart, just like what happens to men: i know many middle aged male runners who have had some kind of cardiac event, despite being very fit. this explains why my mother is still racing, while my father had to stop. this is such gorgeous news.

This is fucking crazy. I remember SO MANY articles about male runners that dropped dead of sudden cardiac events where the family and media were totally blindsided because “he’s a runner, he was so healthy!” and it being all very traumatizing to my cardiophobia because supposedly it proved anyone can get a surprise cardiac event. Like are you kidding me

Running is also the most egalitarian sport with retirees regularly outperforming teenagers. And if a female long distance runner in her 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's has better cardio health than her male peers, (and live longer than them) just HOW sure are we that it was men who were the persistence hunters. Mix this in with the average prehistoric woman being stronger than modern female athletes. Throw this in with colourblindness being more common in men by an order of magnitude: Yeah. Women were better hunter gatherers.
