A note taped to your door, hastily scrawled: "If ye want to know more about Eli Burning, be at the harbor at noon tomorrow. -H"
-Takes the note, giving it a read over-
… Hmm. At the risk of this sounding fishy, I’ll bite. I came here looking for Eli and found EXALT instead. Maybe this will help me get back on track.
Meanwhile, in a battered 1992 Buick Century parked just across the street…
Old Man Henderson chuckled. “Well, Rupert, looks like yon lad’s picked up the trail… let’s see if he follows it, aye?”
Rupert, being the stuffed parrot sitting on Henderson’s shoulder, didn’t answer - though that didn’t stop Henderson from nodding. “Aye, Rupert, I’m not daft… I’ll have me wee helper along, just in case.”
And after this one-sided conversation, the car’s engine sputtered into life and it pulled away from the curb, disappearing around a corner.
-Took a bus to the harbor, looking around while wearing a dark grey jacket, the hood pulled over my head-
Alright… here I am. Lets just hope this isn’t gonna end up with me at the bottom of the harbor…. or above it…Â
-Takes a glance at the sky, expecting any moment for a UFO to fly over head-
The Buick that might have been spotted earlier was parked a short distance away from the bus stop, but it was conspicuously empty; Henderson had chosen to wait just out of sight of the bus stop - specifically, in a little alleyway between two warehouses nearby.
He hadn’t caught a good look at the face of the person who’d read his note, but he recognized the outfit. It was only a few moments before Henderson closed the distance.
"No sudden moves now, laddie, wouldn’t want anything unfortunate to happen…" he said, his voice deceptively calm. "Now suppose you tell me just why in the world ye’d be looking for Eli Burnin’, hmm?"
-I stood still, not chancing to look behind me but I slowly raised my hands up. I was half expecting to feel a gun to my back but luckily felt nothing-
I was told that Eli Burning might know something about a top secret organization called “XCOM”. I came here looking for him and some answers. Now… who are you?
Henderson chuckled a bit. "All in good time, lad,all in good time," he said. "So, ye be curious about XCOM too, aye? They's a canny bunch, make no mistake... cannier 'n these EXALT culties, else they'd no' ken where them wankers be hidin', aye?"
A slight shake of his head. "Eli Burnin'... now there's a name I've no' heard in a long time. I'd like to know how ye came across it. And put yer hawns doon while ye're at it, laddie - ye look a right bampot!"
