Yad Mordekhai, 13 Rue Pavée, Paris, France.

14 and 12 Shlomo Hamelech Street, Tel Aviv, Israel.  Two more  Bauhaus designed apartments.  Both buildings have a common Bauhaus-style feature, which is the rounded corners. One of the goals of Bauhaus was to introduce an urban landscape with softer architectonic qualities.  Notice the long, narrow balconies of number 12.  With the introduction of reinforced concrete frames in the early 1930′s it became possible to create long and narrow balconies on buildings also.

20 Shlomo Hamelech Street, Tel Aviv, Israel.  The flat roof of this building is a typical Tel Aviv Bauhaus feature:  a venue that is common property for the tenants.  In this case, the roof serves as both a laundry drying area and a venue for gatherings.  The strip balcony on the second floor was designed to introduce more light.

Thermometer House, 5 Frug Street, Tel Aviv, Israel.  Built in 1936 by Yehuda Lulka, the name of the streamlined house comes from the harsh vertical lines of the diagonal, slatted windows running down the building.  These windows are aligned with the interior staircase, allowing light to penetrate throughout the day without trapping in the heat.

Roznosar House, 5 Yael Street, Tel Aviv, Israel.  A cubical residential building with an abundance of exterior details, including many terraces.

3 Yael Street, Tel Aviv, Israel. An elaborate Bauhaus building designed by Oskar Kaufmann.  The entrance is a rounded podium, much like a theater.
