The Art of RP

Well... this is it then.

Amino is shutting down, and with it goes what, for many of us, was the last remaining hope.

It was never perfect. It never was. It had a bad reputation, questionable decisions, and more than a few frustrating moments.

And yet, it was the one place where roleplay stayed alive when it had already vanished everywhere else, like Omegle a few years ago. 

Amino was the place where you could still take your time, develop characters, write long plots, and build connections.

Within all that chaos, the Sherlock community endured. We were few...fewer every year...but we stayed. 

We survived until the very last day — holding onto our characters, our stories, and the connections we built there.

This post is not only a goodbye.

It’s also a message to whoever may see this, now or later.

For anyone who still loves Sherlock.

For anyone who still wants to roleplay,

I’m still here.

I’m available to roleplay Sherlock, wherever the community finds its next home.

Amino may be gone.

The stories don’t have to be.

And to Amino ... despite everything...

Thank you.

Thank you for being the place where so many stories were born, where creativity found a home, and where communities like ours managed to survive against all odds.

You were flawed, chaotic, and often even toxic to many, plagued with bugs, safety issues, and unpredictability…

But you were also the reason many of us kept writing, roleplaying, and believing a little longer.

Everyone could see John Watson's deep pain and sorrow at the death of Sherlock Holmes;

Jim Moriarty woke up abruptly in the middle of the night. He was feeling terrible pain in his head. The Irish boy tried to think about the last thing he remembered. The St Barts Hospital. The Roof. The end of the game. Sherlock. All was going according to his plan. The plan he and his sniper had been talking about for months. But then...

'...Oh, I may be on the side of the angels, but don’t think for one second that I am one of them. '

And his worst nightmares became true. The Consulting Detective knew about it. About him. About his pressure point. And with all that implied... He didn't have any options. He couldn't even say goodbye to Sebastian, who was probably watching everything from the front building. He knew what he had to do. 'As long as I’m alive, you can save your friends; you’ve got a way out...Well, good luck with that.'  After saying those last words to Sherlock Holmes, he took the gun and shot himself...

Moriarty had never been afraid of death. But he didn't ever imagine that he would just go back in time. Back when he was just a teenager, to the exact moment where he was still thinking about killing Carl Powers for bullying him, his first step to building his criminal organization

But not only that. He was back on time. The time when he needed to survive.

Survive at the school. From the students, who liked to torment him for some reason. Survive at home with his father, who used to beat him up almost every day.

Survive on his own, sometimes not being able to eat, because he didn't have any money, or cause of his bullies. Sometimes sleeping in the cold streets to avoid being beated up again at home...

Of all the moments from his past, coming to that one was the worst one. 

But the good thing was that now he had an adult mind. He knew better how to handle most of those situations. 

Now, after weeks later, he was in one of the boring classes of his high school, watching the sky through the window with his chin resting on his hand, while the teacher was talking, something about a new kid joining the class, about to introduce him. But Jim wasn't listening; he was thinking about what could have happened in the future. About his organization. About Sherlock. About the last moments of his previous life. About his sniper. And mostly about how he was going to change the future now. He was completely lost in his thoughts, just when a boy behind him was about to hit him on the head with one of the books on purpose.

The cases were getting more complex. The streets of London were more dangerous.

And for that they had created him. Sherlock Holmes. The most advanced Android ever created by CiberLife.

The most characteristic features are his ability to observe and reconstruct the crime scene in his mind, his advanced technology to analyze data and samples in seconds, and his quick and rational mind applied in moments of stress. Sherlock was exceptionally smart, cold, and determined, ready to do anything to succeed in his mission.

It was made to help the Scotland Yard Police to reduce crime in the City of London. Although his personality might be difficult, his efficiency was excellent.

But as an Android, he needed a Master. And by fate, he was assigned to John Hamish Watson, a Doctor who had been in the army, fighting in Afghanistan, until a bullet in his shoulder ended up with his return to England. In exchange for being with the Android, and share information with the Company, they could live comfortably on 221 B Baker Street.

Sherlock had already got used to live with the Doctor. They had solved several cases together.

However, cases of 'Divergents' appeared. Androids capable of feeling. To go against human orders. To be able to even kill humans. And Sherlock had to investigate them and stop them.

London wasn't being nice to the Androids either. The protest against the androids were more frequent. It was becoming dangerous both to the Androids and Humans.

Sherlock was thinking about all this, playing the violin in the living room, in front of the window, like always. However, something was clearly bothering him. He stopped playing his instrument. "John. You shouldn't keep coming with me to the cases." He said at last.
