Piper chuckled. “Hey— that sounds like a perfect combination if you ask me, sweetheart.” She raised an eyebrow before a wide grin started to tug at her lips. “Oh, yeah?” The blonde pulled back her hand, only to brush a stray stand of hair from Kennedy’s face. “I’m glad to hear that.”

“It really is, honey.” She smiled, watching the other before her own eyes flickered down towards Piper’s lips. Biting down on her own before her eyes averted back towards her piercing blue eyes. Her heart seemed to skip a beat. “Yeah, good.” She murmured, hoping the other didn’t see her watching her lips.

Piper chuckled and nodded slightly. “Cheesy but charming.” She smiled down at the brunette and let out a content hum, “that’s the plan.”

“Extremely cheesy, but also extremely charming.” She smiled, “it might be working.”

“I think so.” She murmured softly, glancing up at the stars before looking back at Kennedy. “They look beautiful tonight. —-But they can hardly compare to you.” Piper scrunched her nose slightly. “That was incredibly corny. Ignore me.”

Kennedy couldn’t help but chuckle at Piper’s words. “God, you’re so cheesy.” She teased as she pulled away slightly to look up at the blonde. “You just know what to say to make me fall for you.”

Piper smiled at the thought, using her free hand she reached over to hold Kennedy’s. “I think that if you love someone enough, they’ll always come back to you.”

A soft sigh escaped her lips as she held onto Piper’s hand once again. Looking down as she slightly squeezed it. “That makes sense.”

Piper bit down on her bottom lip, her thumb rubbing circles against Kennedy’s hip. “I do believe in fate, yeah.”

Kennedy hummed in content when she felt Piper began drawing circles along her hip. “Do you think fate brought us back together?” She asked in a soft murmur.

Piper wrapped an arm around Kennedy’s waist, resting her head on top of the brunette’s. “—-I’m really glad you’re here, Ken.” She spoke, letting out a content sigh.

“Me too, Pipe.” She hummed as she nuzzled closer into her neck. “Do you believe in fate?”

“You’re even cuter, darlin’.” She grinned, coming to a stop at the perfect spot to look up at the stars. She gently pulled Kennedy down to sit with her and offered a smile in her ex’s direction. “I missed you in general.”

Kennedy sat next to the blonde as she looked over at the other once again. “I missed you in general too, Piper.” She hummed before she rested her head against Piper’s shoulder. 

“I suppose I am.” She grinned, pulling on Kennedy’s arm slightly as she sped up her pace towards a spot on the sand. She’d definitely picked this place because it reminded her of all the times they had stargazed together in the past. It was probably one of Piper’s favorite things that they did together. “Maybe a little. But your roof wasn’t so bad. You were there, so I didn’t care how little we could see ‘em.”

Kennedy looked over at the other and playfully bumped the her in the hip. “You’re honestly so cute, lovebug.” She hummed as she looked up at the sky. “I really did miss stargazing with you.”

“Always have been when it comes to you.” She retorted, nudging the other girl playfully. “You know I would.” Piper laughed as they rounded the corner, the beach coming into view. “This was my favorite beach when I first visited Venice. —You can see the stars really clearly here, too.”

“You’re just my princess charming, aren’t ya?” She teased as she looked at the view in front of them. Her mouth slightly dropped in awe, just taken by the view of the beach and the stars perfectly twinkling in the sky. It brought memories of when Kennedy would bring her to the roof of her house to stargaze and the times she would drive them to the beach. “This is a lot nicer than barely seeing them from my roof.” She chuckled, squeezing the girl’s hand.

The familiarity and how natural this all felt comforted Piper. “—I like doin’ things that I know you’re going to love. Your reaction is always something I enjoy watching.” She admitted, as they walked. “It’s not too much further.”

It was oddly nice to be able to feel this comfortable again with Piper. “You’re just such a charmer, Piper.” She teased as she looked over at the blonde. “Thank god, I was gonna ask you to carry me soon.”

“Good.” She squeezed the other girl’s hand lightly before continuing to lead the way to their destination. “I told you I would, Ken.”

Kennedy looked down at their connected hands, the familiarity just rushing through the girl’s body. “You did, you did. I should’ve known it was gonna be about something stupid that I love.”

“I promise it’ll be a nice surprise.” She retorted, reaching for the other girl’s hand before pausing for a moment. “—Is this okay?” She asked, an eyebrow slightly raised. “Fine– one hint. We’ll be able to see the stars.”

Her brow quirked at the other’s words and actions, a small smile curved on her lips before she reached for her ex’s hand. “Yeah.” She said softly. “Stars? You definitely are sweeping me off my feet.”

“As do you, Ken. “ Piper responded as she gave Kennedy a once-over, not bothering to be discrete — Kennedy had caught Piper checking her out on countless occasions. She grinned at the scrunch of the nose and chuckled. “It’s a surprise. Follow me.” She made her way over to the door, holding it open for Kennedy.

“Fine, fine. I guess surprises aren’t too bad. Especially if they involve you.” She chuckled, thanking the other as she walked through the door. Following the other’s lead. “But, do I get like a hint or something?”

Piper wasn’t a forward person, so she surprised herself when she asked her ex out so quickly after seeing her again. But she has had a soft spot for the girl ever since they met, so she knew she’d have ended up doing it at some point. Better sooner rather than later, right? She rolled her eyes at the pet name, secretly she loved it. When it was coming from Kennedy at least. “Kenny.” She retorted. She turned to face the brunette, a grin tugging at her lips. “Hey, you.”

The smile seemed to grow when she heard her pet name escaped Piper’s lips. “You look beautiful as always.” She hummed as she pocketed her hands as she nodded at the other, “So, where are you taking me, Barbie? Your dream house?” She teased, scrunching her nose at the other.
