Sexual assault is any unwanted sexual act done by one person to another.
Rape is unlawful sexual activity and usually sexual intercourse carried out forcibly or under threat of injury against a person's will or with a person who is beneath a certain age or incapable of valid consent because of mental illness, mental deficiency, intoxication, unconsciousness, or deception.
Sexual harassment includes any unwanted sexual behaviour that does not include touching of sexual body parts. Sexual harassment can include: calling someone sexual names, standing too close to someone, obscene language or jokes, unwanted discussion of sexual topics.
In a society and especially a scene drenched in rape culture, it might be hard to see one’s behaviour as wrong. One may not even realise they are behaving poorly. However, one should show empathy and at the very least question themselves when they are faced with someone they hurt.
I believe the victims. I believe that, while not consciously, said behaviour that has been exhibited for years on and off stage CAN make people uncomfortable and NEEDS to be questioned. But it hasn’t. Had it been, it could have been forgiven.
