   She could already tell that the words were settling in his mind. Barbara had plenty to say on the subject and perhaps it wasn’t the time. Perhaps she should be relishing in the idea of having Maia home finally, in being happy, in no longer having to fear what was around the corner. If would be what her father would tell her but that wasn’t Barbara. Barbara, like Tim, was calculated and cautious. And now that she had a family, she was a mama bear, this time with the title and not like when she overlooked operations in the Batcave or in the clock tower or when she monitored every little thing her Batboys and girls were up to. If she was close to unbearable then, imagine now. She was going to need some chill and maybe her family would help with that. 

“I know. I just can’t help it. I’ve thought about therapy maybe or talking things out with Bruce but I don’t want to bother him.” Tim would get it. If anyone ever “got it” it was Tim. He was her Tim Tam, her brother, her boy. “I’m just glad you’re here with us, Tim Tam.” 

He could understand why she didn’t want to bother Bruce, just like he often didn’t want to bother either Bruce, Dick or Jason. Damian was fine to bother because it was amusing. While with the other boys, it sometimes felt like he was an annoying little brother. Something Tim didn’t want to be. Ever. Truth be told, he often did not wish to bother Barbra either, but with the two of them; it was sort of different. 

Barbra could often sense whenever Tim was feeling his anxiety take over. Most of his family could, but she would ask about it; in a gentle and yet out-going way. It was hard to explain, but they might be very different, and yet the two were also very alike. “ Don’t think you could ever bother him” The younger male knew how much Bruce cared for Barbra. A gentle smile struck her way, as he added “Therapy could also help if you feel up for it” he would never push anyone to go to therapy unless they wanted it; and wanted the help. He knew how odd it felt for him to speak about emotions to someone he knew, so forcing anyone to do that unless they wanted to; just did not sit right with Tim. Especially if they didn’t even know the person they would talk to. “I mean ––” once again he didn’t want to push. “If you want to talk to someone, I’d be happy to be that for you” he tugged on his sleeves. “Though, I know Bruce would gladly listen to you too” 

The younger batboy was leaning against the doorframe, tugging on his sleeves. A habit he never truly seemed to be able to shake. It didn’t bother him, though it might bother other people. ––– and when it came to Jason, Tim always tried his best not to bother him. Because the first few years, it had felt like the older boy had hated him; and the fact was he perhaps had for a time. Yet, over the last two years or so –– he had changed when it came to Tim. Red Robin had always liked Jason but kept a distance due to being afraid to piss him off. 

Not anymore. Yes, he would still say he tried his best not to piss him off but it was in a very different way altogether. “ that’s a bit critical, isn’t it Jason?”  though a slight smile came across his lips as he said so. Because he wasn’t going to lie, sometimes it truly did feel like nobody really said anything nice to anyone. –– just look at Gotham; it was a ciry filled with people who hated and wanted chaos; no wonder people wanted to move. Tim kept track of the city population, and he could often see when people started to move; or looking for other places to sattle down. Normally it happened to be newwly made famailies, the once who had just gotten children for the first time. Like Barbra and Dick. “ but I won’t dissugree” 

Tim wasn’t a big fan of not telling the truth. He could, on occasion keep facts from people, if he found it to be irrelevant at the time. However, it wasn’t like that with Barbra. If he did not recall wrong, he had even told her the first time he had dared to kiss Stephanie. So it felt weird, and just in all wrong not telling her how he felt about the matter. When it came to his brothers, it was different; he could uphold facts and details he did not see fitting at the time. Both he and Barbra had an eye for details and analysing things more than pherheps would be needed. She had just gotten a little baby girl, and to be afraid for someone who they all knew could hurt them; wasn’t wrong. It was down right understandeble.  

The younger male knew that he, along with Jason and everyone else that loved Barbra and Dick would do everything they could to keep the Joker away from them. Keep him away from their family. Still, Tim did not blame her for feeling that way. He himself did too at times. –– due to the history he got with the crime prince of gotham; or whatever some of them would call him. Tim let out a sigh, not a big one but it was loud enough for Barbra to noticed. “it’s a feeling right?” he asked, hoping she wasn’t implying anything. He had not shown himself in quite some time, and truth be told a lot of the people in Gotham said he was gone. Accoring to Tim, that was just bullshit; he wasn’t gone –– and at some point he would come back. “sometimes it feels like he’s just waying for the right time” Tim added, looking out of the window. He looked back again at Barba. 

He could not promis her anything, ––– nobody could, not even the dark knight himself would be able to promise her that they would be safe, that nothing bad would ever happen. Tim had decided long ago, than being a part of this family meant sacrifices and unrealistic hopes of safty. “ we are always ready to fight though” he added shortly after.
