homework at pastyâs diner, one of madiâs least favorite things. today, it stressed her out to the point that she rendered herself invisible. thereâs a pencil that appears to be moving across paper on its own. books, being pushed around by an invisible force. madi huffs as she furiously erases and grumbles at her math homework. âdamn it.â says the invisible female, as she slams her head onto the counter, causing a loud thump to echo across the diner. she hears someone sit down next to her, and she looks over,  not aware of the fact that she wasnât exactly, visible at the moment. âwhat do you want?â she asks, quite frustrated.Â

there was nothing he could do now. heâd reasoned that there were just some people hell-bent on remaining in situations that were volatile. the mutant of last night proved that. now the mayor, who only wanted to propel the cause they all were working towards was⌠gone. just another body heâd examined in the morgue from the belvedere tragedy.
heâd always find his way to patsyâs comfort diner after a, particularly stressful day. and this was one that definitely qualified as stressful. his tired eyes scan the packed diner, the usual energy it pulls in is gone. replaced with the air of despair. a sigh passes his lips as he looks for somewhere⌠anywhere to sit.Â
slowly meandering over to the little stools he rests his hand on the counter. âdo you mind if i sit here?â motioning around he offers a tired smile. ânot sure where else is open.â
âsure thing.â madi mumbles, casting a glance up at her adoptive parent. by all means, the woman should be in school., she didnât get out until an hour later, and by all means, she had soccer practice. the damn school had forced her to go into some sort of a sport as a way to keep her out of trouble. they actually thought she would stay around for something like that.Â
thereâs a sketchbook laid out on her portion of the counter, and sheâs using it to pretend like she doesnât see her father there, that sheâs the only one there. sheâs picking up pencils of all different sizes, shapes, colors. trying to forget all the facts, the equations that the school day - or part of it, anyway - forced into her mind. trying to block out the fact that sheâs even visible right now.Â
âeveryoneâs here to either get away from something, or to distract themselves, whatâs your damage?âÂ

The liquid burns as it rushes down her throat, as Molly sets the shot glass down, with a sigh. âAnother round, please.â She calls, waving the bartender over. Her words slurred quite a bit, and she had to admit, she was a little tipsy.
The raven haired woman quickly turns to the person next to her, in an attempt to make conversation. âI cannot believe,â she begins, âthat there are some people who believe that those monsters are harmless. One of those things, killed the mayor. Theyâre like bugs, honestly, and they need to be killed, all of them.â
OPEN TO: ALL
âkeep on preaching, love.â there was a hidden tone of mockery in zeldaâs voice, chocolate orbs dancing with nothing but sheer amusement at the amount of drunkenness the other was quickly spiraling into. if the shorter woman were a decent human being, even if it was just by a little bit, she would have asked the bartender to put an end to her drinking⌠but unfortunately.. that was not zeldaâs style, and she was practically dying for some pointless destruction to ensue. what better place than a bar with a bunch of hate mongering drunks such as the one sitting to her left? âhey bartender, keep em coming, yeah?â she was quick to knock back the drink as she turned to the raven-haired woman, bottom lip caught in between pearly whites. â oh, no. no, no. it was the building that killed the mayor, you know.. haggis tech is supposed to be.. what, of the future? and they canât even develop a decent building. if anything, harriet haggis is the one to blame here. poor mayor scott and everyone who attended belvedere were damned fools to trust her.â
she knew the person next to her.  the woman she had dated off and on throughout high school and college. the one after her ex. the one person she thought she would never see again. her breath quickly hitched in her throat, as she attempted to speak. âyou-youâre right.â she murmured. molly was quick to down a shot, staring over at her. âI mean, I trusted her and look where it got me, drinking away my pain, talking to you of all people, instead of studying under one of the greatest minds to exist.â She still pondered the events of her falling out with Harriet, the one that ended with her being let off from the company. And what for? All wbecause she wanted to be a hero and help people.
i donât have fears, fears are for people who actually show their emotions. being without my family. if i donât have them, what do i have? they were the people who made me feel like i actually belonged somewhere, and had people who looked out for me. without them, i would still be on the streets, without them, iâd still be a scared little kid.Â
molly~ where does your hatred of supers stem from?
simply put, it was love. iâve learned, that when you open your heart, it allows people to manipulate you. i fell in love with someone, dedicated everything to them, but they manipulated me in the end. found out they planted feelings that werenât mine. then i realized, they werenât human, they were never human, they were nothing but a monster. as were the rest of their kind.Â
When your father was a death eater, you learned to deal with criticism. Madi knew this better than anyone. Wearing the Lattiere name, wasnât exactly something to take pride in. Hell, they were almost as worse as the Blacks. With a large sum of money, and charming smiles that would make anyone do what they wanted in a heartbeat.Â
But add on being the only muggleborn in a family of purebloods, and being the only gryffindor in a slytherin family and youâve got a recipe for disaster.Â
Especially, when it came to run ins with Draco Malfoy of all people.Â
She was on her way to potions class, the one class she didnât share with any of her friends, when she heard it. An obnoxiously high voice shouting out a, âHey, traitor!â from behind her.
Stopping in her tracks, she quickly responded. âWhat do you want, Malfoy?âÂ
âAll alone, are we? No brothers or friends to stick up for you?â He asked, moving closer to her. âPathetic.âÂ
âI believe, that youâre referring to yourself, because you are absolutely right, Draco. You are pathetic. A pathetic little daddyâs boy, who acts like a goddamn suck up all the time, because he isnât capable of doing anything by himself.âÂ
The next thing she saw out of the corner of her eye, was a flash of green hitting her back, as she fell to the ground, all because he had used the killing curse.Â

âwell, wonât you look what we have here, â began the blonde, as she looked down at three of her former allies, who were currently strapped to chairs. seeing them like this, so powerless, so defenseless. they were weak, each and every one of them. âthree pathetic little heroes. oh, how the mighty have fallen. i canât believe i was so stupid to ever join a team full of little kids.âÂ
âi think youâre forgetting the fact that youâre the youngest one here.â says robin, and madi leans down, laughing in his face.Â
âthat may be true, but iâm not the one running around in a silly little costume playing hero.â she begins, smiling sweetly. âthat, my dear brother, is you.â she bopped him on the nose, causing him to scowl. what had she done to get to this point? had she done anything at all? in her mind, she hadnât. she was just a little kid, one who was without her brotherâs guidance, all because, his mind was focused on someone better.Â
she was made a weapon, a monster. a monster who killed her own father, who murdered the man who gave her shelter. and the worst part? she enjoyed it. loved it even.
âwho even are you, anymore?â noah wonders, looking up at her.Â
âiâm still me,â shrugs madi, walking over to aerith. âthe question is, who exactly are you, aerith? you were once my friend, and now? now youâve become the one person i canât stand, besides my bitch of a brother. this going to be so much fun for me.âÂ
"what do you mean?â
âoh, nothing.â she trailed off. âjust something iâve been looking forward to for quite a while. itâs going to be beautiful, and you, my friends, are getting a front row seat to all the action.â she grinned.
âbut first, iâve got to take care of my dear friend noah, here.â she smirked, crossing over to a table, containing only one item. a high voltage taser.Â
waving it in from of this face, she grinned. âyouâve seen one of these before, right?â she asked, ten laughed. âoh, sure you have. but if you donât remember how it works, itâs just going to be a little shock, nothing too permanent.â a pause, and then, âi hope.âÂ
quickly, she connected the taser to his neck, and relished in the fact that he screamed out in pain. she loved that, loved how aerith and robin cried out for their dear, dear friend. it was like music to her ears. then, she quickly turned to look at robin and aerith.Â
