So my husband and I are struggling with bills. I figured ya know, with school aged children and a husband already working 1st shift, that instead of shipping my kids off to a babysitter, I’d work third shift. Why not you know? I can still get some sleep. Well I live with my cousin so we can get shit paid off to get a loan to buy a place. 

It seems like every fucking time I turn around, my cousin is having me watch her almost 2 year old child who doesn’t listen for shit. My kids, at that age, knew to listen or they got in trouble. I could take them into a shop made of pure glass and not have to hold their hand because all I had to do was say their name, shoot them a look, and they’d stop. Not with her child. I have to seriously repeat myself and that alone is draining to anyone, but someone functioning on no sleep? One week I had her child from the time I put my eldest on the bus until this child’s father got home. I’m like ?!?!?!?! Now, my shift will run 10 pm to 6 am or 11 pm to 7 am EST, I will not be able to take care of this kid, plus take care of mine. And it’s like ... she doesn’t even care? She’s not even knocking off shit for rent. 

She doesn’t care. And on top of that her and I just got into a fight last night because she’s sticking her nose into my marital issues with my husband when it does not concern her. Her marriage is far from perfect. She’s flat out told me that she doesn’t think she’s in love with her husband and if she could leave, be financially set ( her husband makes a 6 figure+ salary ),  and know her daughter would be taken care of, she’d leave. So she’s the LAST person to be giving relationship advice. Are you serious? I’m just so irritated. 

She thinks my husband will be the cost of me losing this job, but he worked 3rd shift for 2.5 years. He knows what’s expected and how hard it is on the body. I don’t think he will cost me the job, if anything I think she will cost me the job with “Hey can you watch her? I just have to run out real quick.” And then she doesn’t return for three fucking hours.

            Louis had never been more nervous in his life, after spending the last few months of his life in Navarre, his brother trying to show him guidance where their father had failed. None of it had helped. His brother was a snake in the grass whereas Louis just didn’t want to let anyone down.

           He reminded himself of those days when he was younger, a friendship built out of some arrangement perhaps. But one he had enjoyed. There had never been any pressure. Not until now. He wasn’t just going to be a husband, he was going to be King consort. Though he was a little more nervous about the first part if he was being completely honest. He wasn’t shy, Louis just wanted to be enough.

            Louis did everything he could to push all of those thoughts to the side as his carriage came to a stop, he looked at his guard and gave him a wry grin. “What could go wrong?” Any eye roll later and Louis was climbing down those steps to face Mary, she wasn’t that far away now. 

            She wasn’t that girl he knew anymore. 

          “Your majesty.” He covers his nerves with an almost playful smile this times as stops in front of them. 

    “As much as you think no one pays attention to you, I do. And I know you’re just… acting out in your father’s absence. Trying to get his attention, but Hope this isn’t the way to go about doing that.” The hybrid mother paused rather briefly, “This is a way that you get him hurt, or worse, yourself killed. He loves you, Hope. Everyone of us do and you have to believe that.”
