The word tumbled from her lips, unsteady and uncertain. Ava had never been part of a school club before; maybe it would be best to resign herself to sitting outside to eat, by herself. She swallowed thickly, averting her gaze and attempting to ignore the the eyes on her that eagerly awaited a response.
