"That much huh? I might just have to find an excuse to come back then.” When that would be was a a good question. A break like this didn’t come very often. “Might be awhile though. I’ve been working on songs for my next album, which means after that’s done the whole big process begins. Recording, press, music videos, and of course a new tour. Busy, busy, busy.” Robin crouched down and reached out to touch the water with her fingers. Cupping some in her hand to stare at the odd colors.
Cadenza leaned down to watch her, and then she smiled and raised a hand. Some water pulled away from the lake and formed into a heart, then two doves fluttering in front of Robin.
"It's really pretty, isn't it?"
“Everything just gets more and more beautiful.” She walked out towards the water, finding it hard to know where to look first. “It’s almost hard to believe it’s real… I mean it is real right? Not a fancy illusion or anything?”
Tempera chuckled and nodded. "It's real. There are a lot of these sorts of landscapes around Veloria. I doubt I'd have time to show you even five percent of them, but you're always welcome to come back to see more."
"Such a shame you don't get to go more. It's so gorgeous out here, we don't really have anything like this in Penacony. Maybe in someone's dream bubble, but it's all mostly buildings." Perhaps she could suggest adding some nature parks in the future. If they would listen at all.
"It's a nice place to get away from everything, clear your head before getting back to the daily grind."
"I suppose most here, including myself, take it for granted. We always think it will be right there later." He looked up just in time to see the trees thinning. Despite them saying Tempera knew the most about Veloria's landscape, Cadenza had been the one leading them.
What they came across when the trees fully cleared was a lake with a vaguely purple tint to it, giant flowers along its edges. And just as Cadenza said, there was a rainbow from one side to the other.
"Here we are."
((Me at 1:49am thinking about how Tempera’s “princely” personality isn’t fake so much as heavily depends on people not getting to see him in just his day-to-day life. Not even just at work or when he’s acting in his capacity as a member of the royal family, but someone who’s only a casual acquaintance of his running into him on the street would get the same treatment.
Pretty much only his family (and Chessa in verses where she exists) know him as anything else. Cadenza tends to find the public’s impression of him funny because that’s her big brother, the guy who fell out of a tree trying to get one of the palace cats down because he forgot they levitate, or who was probably the absolute last one to know he and Chessa were dating (to his credit they were twelve).
But Tempera doesn’t think the dorkier, sillier part of him is any of the public’s business.))
"Only one way to see." Tempera moved to another one. Unlike his sister, though, he climbed up onto it. It didn't even move as he pulled himself up, and as soon as he got on the head, he started bouncing a bit. "Seems solid enough. Would you like to try?" Cadenza was already bouncing like she was on a trampoline, laughing the entire time.
"I suppose I can't miss out on fun like this." Pulling herself up onto one, Robin wiggled her feet on the surface. This one seemed safe too so she took one jump with a laugh. "I don't remember the last time I did something so silly." Her schedule didn't normally have room for such things.
“I think it’s more of ‘Tempera thing,’” Cadenza said. She remained close to her brother as they started off again, but it did seem she’d gotten over her initial nerves with meeting someone new.
“Well, who better to show her Veloria than someone who knows nearly every inch of it?” He glanced to Robin for a moment. “I mostly stay in the city now, but I did quite a lot of exploring in the past. Some with Cadenza, some without.”
“Don’t see why there were ever times you didn’t bring me.”
“I couldn’t always sneak you out, you know.”

"I had a feeling military men don't often take people around on tours even if they are famous." She giggled again, finding it sort of difficult to speak as she jumped. "Suppose we all get a nice little vacation this way right?"
"To be fair, that is only part of my identity." He stopped jumping, lightly bouncing on the mushroom a few times before sliding down to the ground. Cadenza soon followed him, stumbling a couple steps before Tempera caught her. "Careful."
"I know, I know." Once she had her footing again, she moved from Tempera's hands. "We should show her the lake that always has a rainbow over it."
"Only one way to see." Tempera moved to another one. Unlike his sister, though, he climbed up onto it. As soon as she was jumping, Tempera started too as well. He wasn’t laughing quite as much as his sister, but it was easy to tell he was enjoying it.
“Me neither, to be honest.” He did a particularly high jump and landed on the mushroom Cadenza was jumping on. “As Cadenza will tell you, I work quite a lot.”
“It’s true, I’m honestly surprised he took multiple days off to help you.”
