But still, this had to be the least interesting combination. Yet he still found himself trudging down the lawn with everyone else before the match started. It wouldn’t be smart to completely ignore Ravenclaw’s and Hufflepuff’s strategies, he would be facing off against them later after all.
At his unintentional companion’s comment he shot a look towards Moody, glancing at her outfit with a small shrug, “Hmm. That sounds like a you problem so why are you bringing it up to me.”
“frostier even than the chill of october. ouch,” laurel replies, entirely un-put off by the boy’s apparent nonchalance. “did i ask you to solve the problem? no. and i’m not sure if you’re aware, but the nature of conversation is such that one might occasionally talk about, say, the weather, or make a lighthearted complaint, or make fun of oneself.” she’s smiling the whole time, the words empty of any kind of bite other than a slightly sarcastic sort of suggestion. “but be my guest - disengage. makes no difference to me, of course - you’re the one missing out on my company, which seems as though it might be an awful lot more pleasant than yours today.”
