sorry if this is illegible in any way; i’m pretty sick,, but a question came to mind and i got curious, haha…

what are your thoughts on the court of owls, if you don’t mind me asking?

Please, Bruce is fine. I understand you and my son are seeing each other, so you may as well drop the formalities, lad.

Hn. A city like Gotham has a lot of unique folklore, like our local equivalent to Mothman, and the Court of Owls is one of the most well-known. And with the amount of- desperation in Gotham, it can be easy to believe that there are people out there, feeding off this city's death, and feasting on its suffering.

What I think of this is that whether we are talking about a hidden society, or the open cruelty of Gotham's elite, that I don't believe in exploiting my city. Or allowing anyone else to do the same.

What I think is it doesn't matter if the Court of Owls is a legend, or if the Batman exists. What I think is that there are things that are worth believing in, not because they are true, but because they are what is worth believing in: that we can do better by this city, that we can fight for it, that we can defend it.

i understand where these- uh- rumours from other people are coming from, and i personally believe with them myself, but i appreciate you trying to make the city safer regardless if whether or not they are true.

and i agree! i guess without gotham's support in, let's say- the batman of all things- we all collectively wouldn't have found the motivation to fight for the city like he... supposedly does. and without the 'legend' of the court of owls, none of us would have wanted to do better by this city because we would have been unaware about the true extent of what they represent - a general abuse of power due to wealth. i find that pretty interesting, honestly!

so- thanks for answering my question, bruce. i'm happy i could talk to someone else about this topic, haha!!
