The Brat Pack

As of right now, no, Zarek does not have dog aggression. However, he is still very much a puppy and has not developed his adult temperament yet. He does not go out of his way to pick fights, but he isn’t about to back down from one if another dog starts copping an attitude with him either. I’m keeping a close eye on him and monitoring any playtime he has for that reason alone.

It’s almost seven months to the day between photos and not much has changed, at least in their play style. Voodoo still wants the toy and Zarek still thinks Voodoo moves too fast. He believes that proper dogs should be stately and majestic, not racing all over the yard making a fool of themselves for a toy.

Holy damn. I have a picture of elliot where it literally looks like I'm choking her but I know at the time it was just the way the collar was pulled while I was holding her. Like...collars press into the skin when there is resistance...shocker... // your pup is looking gorgeous by the way!!

Thank you. I mean, maybe I should have posted the photo taken just before he pulled towards me? Completely loose lead there, but it wasn’t an interesting photo to me so I didn’t bother. He was moving, slightly blurred with one foot off the ground since he’d just gotten up from a sit. The next two “pulling” photos I just figured were amusing because he was concerned over a camera of all things. And the person holding my two dogs asked me exactly what I wanted her to do. My instructions were: Be a post. Don’t move. Just hold them. I don’t need any fancy tricks. I just need them to sit there so I can get a picture of them together.

That was it. Now, if he’d really wanted to go, he weighs as much as she does and she would have gone flying. He’s big enough that if he doesn’t want to do something, you’re going to have an extremely difficult time making him no matter what gear you’re using and he knows it. I know I can’t lift him. Can’t pick him up. Can’t push him around. You have to convince him that he wants to do what you’re asking, or it’s not going to get done. Additionally, he’s on a show collar. I hate to break it to people, but they’re not all THAT sturdy and yes, we’ve had them break before on other (smaller) dogs that really wanted to go. I use them because it’s easier to edit collars and leashes out using something fine like that. The one we’re using now? is a 3mm wide collar. That particular collar will break first before it hurts him.

I’m not entirely convinced you’re not a troll trying to start shit, because it’s baffling to me how someone could be ignorant on how collars work, but on the off chance you’re serious I’ll go ahead and answer you. Because if you really think about it, it’s amazing what happens to a collar when you have 140 lb dog trying to walk forward towards his owner instead of sitting for two seconds like he was told to. The collars, they tighten! Who would have guessed? Truly, we learn something new every day. And yes, you can tell he was moving based on the change in position of his body position between the two photos on the set you decided to jump to conclusions on. Two photos that were taken in maybe the span of five seconds apart, and *you* decide you’re justified in jumping to conclusions, calling a member of my family a douche bag, and laying down a judgment on what needs to happen immediately. Truly, whatever would I have done in my 30+ years of owning dogs without people of your mindset coming along to inform me of this on a couple of photos I thought were amusing.
