Surprised to hear Garnet’s voice she quickly turned her gaze to the other gem for a moment before relaxing, her expression returning to the melancholic one she had before Garnet came to see her. “Yeah,” Snow murmured, “Just… thinkin’… about everything that’s been going on lately.” she returned her gaze to the ocean, lapping up just enough to kiss her toes. 

She’d been really out of it lately, and even had to stay home from missions after a few close calls. She knew she should’t let this get to her so much but she couldn’t help it. “Sorry, I guess you guys have been worried about me, huh?” she finally asked, glancing at Garnet from the corner of her eye.

“I have.” Garnet sat down beside her. “I’ve noticed something was wrong. Normally, I’d say you just need time to heal, but whatever is going on has been affecting the whole team. We can’t have that.”

“Woah!”  The Diopside yelped when she felt the vibration of Garnet’s punch through her sword.  But Black Star hadn’t expected Garnet to fall back as well.  So she was surprised to see the fusion sitting as she got up.  At the comment though, Black Star chuckled sheepishly “thanks!  You got a strong punch!  But yeah.. we could work on our.. ground standing, heheh!”

So, Sapphire did just that. She reached her hand out and gently touched Ruby’s hair.

“Just as soft as ever. And still belonging to the best Gem in the galaxy.” She placed a gentle kiss against Ruby’s cheek a moment later.

“Um…a flying thing…” The pearl said before slowly opening her hands. A small, white butterly flew out of her hands and up into the trees. She watched it go before looking at Emerald. “Did…did you see it?”

Emerald smiled at her and nodded her head. “Yes.” She said before turning to Garnet. “We were taking a break in our search and…well I guess it was luck that we happened upon each other.”

As she spoke, the pearl walked closer to Emerald and sort of hid behind her.

“I’m Emerald and this is my friend Mint Pearl. Or Mint for short.”

“N-nice to meet you…”

“Oh...” Garnet sighed in relief at the sight that it was just an Earth creature. She smiled, remembering the way she was anamored with those when she first found Earth as well. 

“Emerald, Mint.” Garnet nodded at them in greeting. “I have a place we can hide, come on.” She turned back and started walking on the grassy trail through the trees.
