she raises an eyebrow and is not convinced by his words. honestly, natasha rarely believes anything that gabriel says. she’s learned to take his words more as suggestions than reality. nat places her hands on her hips, her lips frowning in disapproval. “if you’re going to lie, at least do a better job of it,” the blonde huffs. “you don’t worry enough. i’ll take you home,” natasha adds, pursing her lips. “that’s more like it.” 

                 “ i  have  simply  never  lied  a  day  in  my  life. ”  he  lies,  taking  a  final  long  sip  of  his  drink.  the  man  lies  at  least  one  a  day  but  his  inebriated  mind  says  otherwise. frankly,  gabriel  knew  if  he  ran  into  natasha  he’d  be  going  home  immediately.  “ fine....” he  says  in  a  dramatic  groan,  dragging  his  feet  along.   “ can  we  at  least  get  mcdonalds  on  the  way?”  he  asks,  childishly. 

she wanted to be alone. meltdowns experienced in total solitude are the most cathartic, mal reasons with herself whenever her fingers develop that familiar itch to reach for her phone. desperation to hear from gabe is not a new feeling for her, but it’s one that hasn’t bubbled up in so long that she’s surprised when she practically trips over it while pacing around her living room. she lifted her head and glanced at the front door when she heard the telltale sounds of someone approaching. her teeth sunk into her lower lip. she crossed the living room and pulled open the door, sighing in relief when she saw him. you alright? mal wanted to scoff at the question. instead she just shrugged, failing to meet gabe’s gaze. if she was alright, then she wouldn’t have called. “you could’ve just told me that you were busy tonight.” regardless, mal opened the door wider and stepped backward, silently inviting him inside. “i would’ve been fine with a rain check.”   

          overtired,  gabriel  should’ve  gone  straight  home  after  his  long  day  at  the  studio.  nonetheless,  there  he  was --  hands  in  the  pockets  of  his  sweatpants  as  he  moseys  down  to   mal’s  front  door.  the  wiser  part  of  him  knew   coming  to  mallory’s  rescue  wasn’t  going  to  end  well  for  him.   he’d  end  up  going  home  wishing  he  wasn’t  there  for  just  that.  just  someone  to  be  there  for  her,   for  now.   “ sorry,  i  missed  your  call  earlier,  i  was  in  the  studio. came  as  soon  as  i  could.”  he  explains,  his  voice  raspy  and  strained  from  an  eight  hour  work  day.  still,  despite his  reluctance  to  being  there  in  the  first  place  --  a  faint  smile  still  pulls  at  the  corners  of  his  mouth.  a  smile ( albeit  small  )  solely  reserved  for  her.  genuine  happiness  he  just  can’t  seem  to  replicate  with  anyone  else.  “ you  alright?  i  brought  ciroc. ” he  says  in  a  sing-song  tone.

          “  i  think  that’s  a  good  idea  ,  but  you’re  carrying  it  around  ,  not  me  !!  that  sounds  like  a  recipe  for  a  broken  nail  ,  and  i’d  rather  keel  over  than  walk  around  with  a  busted  manicure  —  could  you  imagine  ?  ”  she  grimaces  ,  as  if  it’s  truly  the  worst  thing  in  the  world  .  but  that  grimace  is  soon  turning  into  a  slight  pout  ,  reaching  out  to  pull  the  bag  towards  her  to  get  a  closer  look  .  “  you  don’t  like  it  ?  ”  thumbing  over  the  soft  leather  ,  her  lips  purse  in  thought  .  “  is  it  because  the  logo’s  absolutely  massive  ?  i  think  that  might  be  what’s  getting  you  .  ”

if there was one thing natasha hated about parties, it was the drunk ass, self-entitled jerks who thought it was fun to be loud and irritating. her lips curled in disgust as the man spoken to her. she crossed her arms over her (now soaked) shirt. “excuse me, but you’re the one with the butterfingers.” however, when gabriel steps into view, her temper dies down. instead, an expression of concern is replaced. “haha, my feelings are hurt.” natasha raised her eyebrows. “how many drinks have you had?” she glanced down at her shirt before shrugging. “it’s fine you’ll buy me a new one.”

            humming  along  to  the  song  blasting  through  his  airpods,  gabriel  jogs  down  the  paved  path .  the  sun  had rose  just  hours  ago,  early  morning  dew  still  left  on  the  grass.  it’s  all   still  so  serene.  this  is  only  one  of  his  new  habits  in  the  long  list  of  things  he’s  been  trying  out  recently  to  better  himself  --  or  whatever  the  lady  on  youtube  said.  he  found  going  for  a  morning  run  was  a  better  use  of  his  recommended  mediation  time  than  sitting  in  silence  or  doing  yoga.   gabriel  never  liked  being  alone  with  his  own  thoughts --  at  least  here,  in  the  middle  of  the  park  there’s  plenty  of  scenery  and  passersby  to  keep  his  thoughts  from  going  too  far  elsewhere.             though,  gabriel  starts  wishing  the  park  was  a  little  bit  more  empty  as  he  notices  a  familiar  face.  he  spots  samuel,  sat  on  a  bench  just  feet  away  from  him.  having  held  eye  contact  for  just  a  hair  too  long.   it’s  too  late  to  turn  around  a  pretend  he  didn’t  see  him --  no  matter  how  much  he  really  wanted  to  just  walk  right  past  him,  gabriel  will  have  to  be  polite  for  once.  make  small  talk.  he  hates  small  talk.   “hey,”  he  says  slowing  his  jog,  he  offers  the  other  a  wave.  “  i  don’t...  think  i’ve  seen  you  here.”  he  should  know,  he  runs  this  path  everyday  for  the  past  month.  “you  come  here  often?”  he  says  in  a  chuckle  --  really,  he’s  just  trying  to  figure  out  if  he’ll  need  to  find  a  different  park. 

( jordan fisher , cismale, he/him, 23 ) omg ! i was walking yonge street downtown , and you’ll never guess who i saw .  gabriel parrish   ! i just saw a post about them on sixsecrets ! i think it said something like  “ gabriel parrish spotted locking lips with two hollywood hotties –  all in one night?! ”  . isn’t that wild ? i guess it makes sense through , since they’re apparently reticent and over-indulgent . but i’ve heard they’re also valiant and passionate ! i’ll just stick to giving them the benefit of the doubt . i mean , it’s not like i know them personally — they’re a famous singer ! you know , i’ve actually heard rumors that redacted, but they’re just rumors … i think . i dunno . if you happen to run into them , tell them i’m their 3biggest fan !
