This is the sixth of the series of the Hiber2015 Odyssey Podcasts. We are hoping to address those not-so-everyday topics, which one may not always find the time - or make the time - to consider.
Take 15 minutes to yourself, look inwards, and see where you find yourself. The theme for this podcast explores the definition and value of history and remembering. We discusses the intricacies of the internationalisation process, objectivity and emotional detachment, cause-effect relationships, and the perpetual repetition of history overtime.
Panel discussant: Juliette Maigné.

Take 15 minutes to yourself, look inwards, and see where you find yourself. The theme for this podcast strives to look beyond the buzzwords and sentiments of happiness that dominate our experience of a session. Panel discussants Juliette and Naomi aim to untangle these said sentiments so as to draw valuable conclusions and lessons that facilitate personal growth post-forum.

Perceptions: What We Understand As Truth
Our perceptions of the Middle East can be flawed. Societal and media portrayals of cultures in the Middle East have boldly and erroneously associated Middle East with Islam, Islam with terrorism and human rights violations and utter socio-political chaos.
For the Themed Party, the participants of Hiber2015 dressed up as ‘Arabians.’ In avoidance of cultural ignorance, misinterpretations and cultural appropriation issues, Media Team Member Juliette Maigné of Odyssey took on a project entitled “Perceptions: What We Understand As Truth.”
In a world gravitating around fallacious amalgams, Odyssey collected your perceptions. With the intent of demystifying modern misperceptions of the cultures of the Middle East, we wanted to offer you an opportunity to express your own, and the chance to hear others’. You may react to them; you may question them; you may choose to use them as an addition to your understanding, a point of departure as a free thinker. Whatever you take from this project, make sure that you do take something. We want you to consider why we perceive these cultures the way we do.
Zaragoza, and Spain, embody the richness of cultural blends in ways more than one. With the intricacy of Spanish historical heritage, we wanted you to take a moment to contemplate the relationship between your perception of the Middle East, and that of Spain.
So, we asked you: “What is your perception of Middle Eastern cultures, and how can you relate it to Spain?”
This is the fourth of the Hiber2015 Odyssey Podcast series. We are hoping to address those not-so-everyday topics, which one may not always find the time - or make the time - to consider.
Even after we have departed from the forum, we still hold true to the belief that nothing is finite, and will therefore continue our series on an individual basis.
So now, take 5 minutes to yourself, look inwards, and see where you find yourself. The theme for this podcast touches upon perceptions and relativity of the lives we live, and questions the concepts of truth and genuine understanding.
Panel discussant: Marta Sznajder.
Today, we sailed.
Photo taken and post-processed by Joana Gordinho.
General Assembly had finally docked and anchored down unto the delegates. They could be easily spotted along the streets of Zaragoza with the young gentlemen’s ties carefully tied, dresses on the ladies all zipped up, sweaty palms, resolution booklets looking more wrinkled than old ladies, and faces more concentrated than concentrated juice. It is on these two intense days of debates that each committee were challenged or praised on all their hard work derived from blood, sweat, and tears. All in all, every committee stood their ground withholding any cracks that may have been exposed by the others with their absolute belief in themselves and their resolution.
Additionally, a new concept produced and introduced by the one and only Oliver Stenbom offered live statistics on the current debate projecting which committees have made points relating to a suggested theme and the results of the voting. Which you are able to see in following link: http://statistics.stenbom.eu/session/2/
Each and every individual conquered. The end is near, but the true beginning awaits.
