Hyena’s a Tableturf Champion - he’s been playing the game since it was created. As an early adopter, he got a headstart skillwise compared to the average player.
He’s Inkopolis Square’s reigning champion, and while the scene isn’t as big there as it is in Splatsville, he’s an amazing player.
In the blog’s canon, tournaments are played in a bo5 format (smaller tournaments do have bo3 format, but the top dogs are all fighting in bo5) - first to three wins get it. This way, it’s not completely dictated by sheer luck.
Hyena’s playstyle is a mix of defensive and offensive - his strategy namely focus on disrupting yours. He’s a massive bother and hard to figure out when you start playing against him, but the more you confront him, the more you can predict him.
Unless you’re a champion yourself, or a smart, adapting AI (tartar muses, this is you) good luck beating him!
In other news, Hyena can also look at your Tableturf moves to learn more about you. Guy can analyze.
