#Honestly there is zero excuse to misgender nonbinary characters (painkiller, bic) for any reason. you wouldn’t accidentally misgender a binary trans character like minty or sharps, even having seen both pre-transition in the comic. so why nonbinary people? “i didn’t know” so you didn’t check and just assumed? why is it specifically the identity of nonbinary characters that’s so much harder to remember? it’s incredibly disappointed how common this is, especially from fans who claim to want more lgbtq / identity rep in the comic and the osc in general. especially when they assume based on “feminine appearance = girl, anything else = boy”. this and the amount of disrespect for fossil’s and comet’s aromantic identities. not only does fossil explicitly not want ANY kind of committed relationship, comet directly says she is terrified of people and is said to have suffered extreme distress in the presence of literally any people.
