I have a lot of characters who would like to say that it’s them, but I think it might be Ian Porter???? (Although he’d absolutely hate that and in most cases I don’t think he even knows that he’s broken hearts haha)

who uses all the hot water: i feel like they’re both actually super conscientious about this actually bc all they both want out of life is for the other to be happy hahaha

who does most of the cleaning: natalie still woodhouse

what has a season pass on their dvr/who controls the netflix queue: umm so they def!!! watch odr!!!!! which is ironic bc they’re also part of its history but yknOW i feel like they also watch vn but i feel like natalie does noT watch that one alone smh/they both do! but natalie probs spends more time on that bc she likes to go in and arrange them so they all have a ~nice flow~ whereas i feel like ian would be more practical about it and just put to the top the one he’s most interested in????????

who calls up the super/landlord when the heat’s not working: natalie bc it’s will she calls tbh but if it’s someone else, ian does it

who steals the blankets: natalie

who leaves their stuff around: i feel like they’re both pr tidy but natalie’s probs slightly more sloppy

who remembers to buy the milk? whoever’s going to the store i feel like they’re pr organized about that sort of thing and have an ongoing list that’s on both their phones so they just…take care of it as it comes

who remembers anniversaries: both! and they make super romantic plans and go on trips or out to their fav restaurant or just go for a long walk on the beach holding hands they’re way more chill than their siblings hahaha

Who cooks normally? ian sometimes natalie tries but…that’s NEVER a good idea

How often do they fight? a normal amount i’d say but natalie’s always sure to apologize and make up and that sort of thing she also prefers to resolve an argument before going to bed so they don’t go to bed angry bc she doesn’t ever want things to just build up between them like they did w her parents

What do they do when they’re away from each other? text throughout the day, calls at night <3

Nicknames for each other? natalie will call him literally any term of endearment that pops into her head at the moment?????? but mostly it’s still ian it’s always ian <3

Who is more likely to pay for dinner? ian…yknow porter

Who steals the covers at night? natalie

What would they get each other for gifts? natalie always gets handmade, super thoughtful things that usually pertain to happy memories/the good things/inside jokes/etc in life bc he can have anything money can’t buy, so she reasons she has to give him things money can’t

Who kissed who first? ian probably kissed her

Who made the first move? ian again natalie’s…not on top of that sort of thing. at all.

Who remembers things? both!!! they’re both so thoughtful, they always do <3

Who started the relationship? still ian hahaha

Who cusses more? neither, really???? possibly natalie?????? maybe ian?????? they might be tied??????

Who is a night owl: Natalie!  She can do either but honestly when she’s with Ian, she usually keeps him all night talking lbr <3

Who is a morning person: Ian!  At least…he seems that way in comparison to Lex ;D besides he’s gotta beat Natalie to the kitchen or else she might burn the place down ;D

Are they cuddlers: YES!  At least, Natalie is which means Ian cuddles by extension ;D

Who is the big spoon and who is the little spoon: Ian is the big spoon, Natalie is the little spoon

What is their favourite sleeping position: I feel like it’s a face-to-face side-by-side snuggle hahaha

Who steals all the blankets: Natalie!

What they wear to bed: She wears a console and sleep shorts/pants (depending on the weather) for the most part…I’m not sure what he wears hahaha

Who likes seeing the other wearing their t-shirt: Ian…I don’t think he could really pull off hers hahaha and Natalie is deF a clothing-stealer

Who falls asleep mid-conversation: Both honestly I feel like they just talk until they fall asleep a lot

Who wakes up in the middle of the night with nightmares: THIS IS SO SAD bc precious children but honestly I feel like it’s happened to both…

Who accidentally punched the other in their sleep: Natalie has almost def accidentally punched Ian in her sleep smdh

Harry, too, was expected to socialize, to charm the Porters and pet their pre-inflated egos.  He’d had extensive training - from the Wests, from the Silvers, from the Ackermans - but he couldn’t seem to recall a single nicety, even if he’d wanted to, and even the desire was lacking.  All he could think was that this was his future.  Anytime he wanted to see Nicole, he’d have to come through Lex; anytime he wanted to speak to his mother, he’d have to sort through the denizens of some palace and be greeted like one more fake friend.  Even Frederick Ackerman was putting on a sickening show, practically drooling over Edmund Porter as if he were a roasted ham.  

Harry felt sick.  He was loosing everything again, and somehow he was expected to congratulate the Porters while they took it all away.  Nicole was wearing red, a deep vermillion the same hue as his father’s blood, and Harry couldn’t look away.

The bar was little comfort, but it was a distraction at least.  The burn of hard alcohol felt fine as it numbed out the interior of his screaming skull.  Maybe that’s how his father had felt, in the end, and Harry stared bleakly in the softly swirling contents of his glass.  It all seemed to disappear within moments, and the Porters had not been stingy with the alcohol content.  This was the good stuff.

“Another,” said Harry, leaning at the bar, trying not to look as the least objectionable Porter ambled up.  He hoped Ian didn’t speak to him, at all, but he became only the more incensed when he chided him - however gently.

Once Harry had quite liked Ian, but just now his head was swimming and he couldn’t deal with what was going on; he couldn’t deal with the fact that this time, at last, he was helpless to stop it.  He’d always known he would be in the end, but he’d hoped the end wouldn’t come.

Harry’d been right, though. He wasn’t the only one who was drinking more than his share of the liquor. His mother and brother both had been drinking since the moment they’d arrived (and, in all likelihood, since the moment they’d opened their eyes this morning), but they were both functioning alcoholics (short term, withholding their alcohol would probably make things worse instead of better). 

Ian had seen the daggers that Harry had been shooting his brother all evening and he knew that if he tried to keep up with Lex, that the only way this ended was badly. (Not that Ian had high hopes for the evening to be a success on any level, but he hoped that everyone would, at least, make it out alive.) 

Everyone in the room was a bomb waiting to go off, but Harry was currently the most vulnerable and Ian could tell that all it would take would be one wrong word or move or look and he would explode.

Somehow I wanna say these two are friends but it makes ZERO sense? Esp if Max did a number on Cece. BUT LIKE I feel like maybe they met as kids when Stella visited her fam here in VA and just since then have been buds? Plus, Ginny and Cece are best friends, so I’m sure they’ve all known each other and what not. Stella: Max Monroe, what can I say, you’re the thorns to my rose.

They have some connections ~~Ginny through Cece, maybe Max (which wouldn’t be a good connection, but…) I think it’d be sweet if they were friends or something.

anyway I can totally see them being friends??? the porters and the eastwoods have known each other for a long time ++ ward and lex are bffs and I feel like ian ended up hanging out with pippa/ward/stella when the two of them got together haha

hahah honestly I feel like woodhouse is IMPOSSIBLE to prank just b/c he’s so HYPER AWARE of his surroundings like he’d notice if you put a little bit of dust in one of the rooms in ian’s crazy ass maze of a mansion like you aren’t going to be able to surprise him at all hahaha

but yes!!!! okay so I feel like there’s every chance that ian knew him back in ny b/c I feel like nick is probably one of ian’s few ~*~actual~*~ friends in society haha and so he probably would hang out with him if they were ever at the same party/social event, etc. etc. and yeah if stephen was around, then he’d def know him!!!! and he’d be v welcoming and excited ot show him around va beach now that he’s moved down here!!! like it’s sad that ian is leaving it b/c like he’s a world traveler and yet this is the place he loves/knows that best hahah and he’s gonna be an excellent tour guide if stephen wants one ++ i feel like ian could use the distractions pLUS I feel like things are pretty awkward w/ ian and a lot of his friends (haha see our awko taco convo w/ seth + ian) 

So he stuck with the trusty, “Oh,” and left it at that. And with an added, “Good luck,” his gaze returned to his shoes as he slowly shifted his weight to the other foot. What he wouldn’t give to be anywhere else right now. Or, at the very least, know where things stood between Ian and Natalie. Though would’ve been helpful.

But then Ian returned to familiar territory. Seth gazed up at him, his head cocked to the side as Ian promised to stop by Val’s. And for a split second Seth wondered if that was forbidden ground. If even inviting Ian Porter to breathe the same air as his sister would be too much for them all. But too late now.

He laughed a little awkwardly as he straightened, giving Ian a little wave of his hand, “Hey, that’s why Val hired me. Official towel boy, right here. I’m in charge of keeping the customers alive and making sure they come again. And tell their friends.” He grinned a little, as he added, “We can’t have the customers actually dying. Then Val would be out of business.”

But then, as Ian answered him question about Lex, the amusement died on his lips. It was just as he’d feared. Where there was one Porter, there was always sure to be another. Just as he’d feared. Natalie, he assumed, could handle herself. She had James now. But Val didn’t deserve this. Not when she already had one ex hanging around, harrassing her. The last thing she needed was another. And maybe this one was worse.

And then Ian mentioned Lex’s engagment. And Seth froze. Could it really be that simple? Would it really be that simple? Would he marry someone else and finally leave his sister alone. From what he knew of Lex Porter, the answer was probably no. But at least he could hope.

“Oh,” he said again. “Well, congratuations. I’m sure you must be happy for him. When’s the big day?” Not that he cared. He just assumed they wouldn’t get married in VA Beach. And if the wedding was soon, maybe they wouldn’t stick around long.

This has been the only place Ian had truly been happy. 

Still, he felt the need to let it go. Holding on to it felt like holding on to Natalie and he knew he needed to move on from her ... or at least let her move on from him. 

He chuckled, “Hey, that’s a pretty good business model. They don’t teach you that in business school, but -- having your customers not die is a plus. I mean, unless you run a funeral home, but that’s a whole other thing.” 

that being said, ginny and ian are jsut really good friends and they’ve grown up together and I feel like they are really comfortable with each other and if pippa is like spying on them, I can see where it looks like they could/should be a thing?? 

but omg throwing all of these rando girls at ian and drew hahaha. I feel like ian would take it better than drew??? or idk maybe worse b/c I can see where ian would accidentally give them the wrong impression b/c he’s trying to be a gentleman about it (smdh) meanwhile drew is being SO NOT MARRIED to ginny and basically breaking out his velcro wallet that is just filled with pics of him and ginny and darcy #facepalm
