Mike tries to pick her up, but he keeps slipping; by that point she’s already awake and smiling, but will and mike are so determined to do this one last time. Will comes over and helps support her other side and they’re walking like crap to the front door with her in their arms. when they’re driving finally get to the door, they’re struggling with the jays while their daughter is just giggling. once they finally get it open they’re shimmying down the hallway to her room, placing her in bed each kissing her on the forehead like normal.

Mike being so frustrated with Will not talking and rolling his eyes in rink o mania just doesn’t makes sense from a platonic lens. because if Mike really just thought of him as a friend not only he would’ve even start that conversation when looking for El after she was publicly humiliated, he wouldn’t be as “emotionally invested” in Will’s behaviour as he was. He would care about his friend’s feelings sure, and maybe he would’ve asked him about it the day after, but he wouldn’t feel so strongly about it and take it as personally as he did and he definitely wouldn’t be as affected by it (“you practically sabotaged the whole day”) and let it ruin his day. He was just so hyper focused about Will.
