The fact that you called “poet” a possible clue is funny to me too because now I’m curious what exactly you thought I might have been telling you. 👀😂 I won't confirm or deny whether there was anything hiding inside that word, though. I’ll just say that sometimes the most ordinary-looking pieces are the ones that become interesting once you put them beside everything else. 🤭

And I think that's where our definitions of clues probably get even more complicated. You seem to look at a phrase and wonder what it might be pointing toward, while I sometimes look at why that particular phrase was chosen in that particular moment. Those aren't necessarily the same investigation. 😂 Which means you could technically find a clue without finding the clue I thought I was leaving. And somehow I think that's happened more than once. 👀🤣

You got me with saying you laid the files across your desk before the light bulb went off because honestly that might explain why I sometimes feel like you're not merely responding to what I said—you've been mentally rearranging it. 😂 Taking one piece from here, another from three conversations ago, putting them beside something I said days ago and suddenly deciding there might be a shape underneath it all. And I can't even be mad at that because…that's kind of what I've been doing too. 🤭

As for whether the search was worth the road traveled… I think that's an interesting question within a question because the answer depends on who you thought you were searching for when we started versus who you realized you were actually looking at somewhere along the way. 👀

I don't think every discovery I've made in this has been something I consciously went looking for. Some things were more like…recognition. A moment where something you said made me stop because it sounded strangely familiar to something I hadn't quite put into words yet. And I think those are the pieces that tend to linger the longest. Not because they're necessarily the biggest, but because they make you wonder why something felt familiar before you understood why.

And since you asked what I did while writing this… 😏 I’ll tell you, but I'm going to make you earn the rest of the context. 😂 I went back and put a couple things together (I didn't know how well they would sound together but it made my brain kinda short-circuit a bit like close to having an epiphany) before sending that one because I realized I was about to let the behaving comment wander completely outside the boundaries of our investigation 🥹😮‍💨 and I don't think we want me acting like that friend, do we? 😂

Whether that was me being careful… or me wanting to see if you would notice the space I left there… well. 🤭😂 I suppose that's another little experiment for my files...your files...our files...

Then yes, I noticed the part about you using emojis and phrases to help solve your riddle. 👀 That actually tells me more than you probably realize because it means some of the things I've been treating as potentially accidental may not have been accidental at all. But don't worry, friend, maybe I could at least make your investigation a little easier. 😂

I also think you're right about how much information can sit inside someone's reaction. Sometimes the answer isn't in what a person says; it's in what they suddenly become more careful about saying afterward.... or what they choose to explain without being asked....or what/how they chose to leave conspicuously untouched. 👀

Which brings me back to your little “silhouette” revelation. 😂 Because now you've confirmed something I was already suspicious about: you didn't choose that word casually. You knew there was a difference between seeing an outline and seeing what exists beyond the outline, and you chose the word anyway.

So I won't ask you again what you meant by it. 😌 I'd actually rather see what you mold the fact that I noticed into. Because maybe the interesting part isn't whether you've filled in more of my outline. Maybe it's what made you recognize the shape in the first place. 👀

And I think that's where your “both” answer gets interesting. You said you're seeing what is visible while also seeing things that aren't necessarily visible from the outside. That tells me you've already formed an impression that goes beyond the things I've explicitly handed you and that's what I'm salivating for..I mean what I'm patiently waiting for.. 😂🤭
