#2, Your Story: In our younger years, my twin sister and I would start an artwork and pass it to each other for gentle evaluation and input. However, this input consisted of a new individual who drew something unique and unconventional (to spice up the overall piece of art). It was always exciting to see each other's reactions, colors, drawing styles, etc. and at the end of the drawing process, we would always have two sets of pieces that surpassed our imaginations.

#3, Your Value Proposition: This presumably new and inspiring application will be for anyone looking to draw and collaborate with artists of different styles, experiences, and interests. As such, when browsing through artwork to contribute to, you will be exposed to pieces from your own neighborhood and neighborhoods across the ocean.

#4, The Pain: One artist may be absolutely terrific at drawing face shapes and expressions, but how about bodies? How about shading and coloring? Feet, perhaps? With this application, artists can collaborate to help and learn from each other to complete unique pieces.

#7, Your Product (Application Description and Prototype Screenshot): This application will allow for multinational artists to collaborate on art pieces (provided each artist has a drawing tablet and a stylus OR simply a smartphone and a stylus). So far, the application cannot support the collaboration of multiple artists in real-time, i.e., only one artist can work on it at a particular time and plans for a story-telling/writing version of this application is in the works (hypothetically, of course).

Hi, my name is Obama Carina Khan, an Environmental Biology major from Ryerson University. I am well versed in all things Biology spanning from animal dissection to soap making. And like soap, I’m easily moldable and always on the lookout for new experiences!

To prepare, I asked my friends in Finance and they helped me get a good grasp on the practice of elevator "pitching." However, their examples were geared towards industry individuals and/or advocating for a product or idea. So I did some further research on "general" pitches, looked at infographics, and took notes on some examples of what I thought was "good."

Then, I chose an audience for my "elevator pitch" i.e., someone influential in my field, perhaps a recruiter or an HR personnel reviewing internship applications. After that, I was still pretty unmoved so I looked through my bio's for my professional accounts, and my ResearchGate account really inspired me.

So I wrote a one-line introduction and talked about my passions and qualifications in the second line. For my last line, I chose to describe it as a "hopeful outro," i.e., conveying my interest and sincerity so that the message is efficiently delivered to my target audience (and hopefully they're interested enough to continue the conversation).

Additionally, to further clarify my "moldable" statement, I meant to emphasize my adaptable nature (no matter the environment).

However, I can already see room for improvement as I was very broad (and perhaps, unnecessarily comical) in my "elevator pitch." However, that was just me being me and what I really wanted to say is subtitled in the gif below.

I was surprised to find that VIZ, which is affiliated with Shounen Jump (a website/app that I use to read manga) had 20 trackers!

However, this makes sense as Japan has recently enacted a copyright law to protect against unlawful scanlation and distribution of manga.

Additionally, I also have the AdblockPlus (ABP) extension (on Chrome) which hopefully takes care of trackers for me, but both extensions (i.e., Disconnect and ABP) have been very insightful.

2. How would you search for something on a specific site?

Into the Google search bar, type “site:specific-site.com” followed by a space and a search prompt.

Note: “specific-site.com” represents a hypothetical web address.

E.g., site:twitter.com strawberry mochi

3. How would you correctly search for a definition?

Into the Google search bar, type “define:word.”

E.g., define:perfume

4. How would you search for a specific product available within a specific price range?

Into the Google search bar, type “product $value..$higher-value”

E.g., perfume $50..$150

5. How would you search for a specific filetype?

Into the Google search bar, type “filetype:” followed by a specific file type.

E.g., filetype:doc equilibrium

Note: this command searches for microsoft word files that mentions the word “equilibrium.”

6. How would you include or ignore words in your search?

Into the Google search bar, type a specific word followed by words to exclude from the search result like so: -x -y.

E.g., Venus -fashion

Note: this command excludes the fashion brand Venus when searching for web pages about Venus (i.e., the planet).

7. How would you find sites/pages similar to an existing one?

Into the Google search bar, type “related:” followed by the web address of an existing site.

E.g., related:www.twitter.com

8. How would you confirm the exact form of a quote even if you were missing some of the words?

Into the Google search bar, type out your quote to the best of your ability, and where you’re missing a word, fill it in with an asterisk.

E.g., a heart’s a * burden

Note: with a Google search, you would be able to find that the missing word is the word heavy (from Diana Wynne Jones’ Howl’s Moving Castle).

9. How would search for pages containing two connected words?

Into the Google search bar, type one-word AND another-word OR connect two words using a hyphen (as discussed in question #1).

E.g., Converse AND red OR red-converse

10. How would you search for social media content containing a specific tag?

Using the site command, search for tags using “inurl.” However, the easier way would just be to type in a hashtag in the social media’s search bar.

Having dealt with both the positive and negative sides of social media, I believe everyday users need to think critically about what they're shown (via exposure) and maintain a presentable brand. This way, persons using social media for personal matters are, not only associated with positivity, but also develop an internal system that is able to decipher between wrongs, rights, truths, and lies (i.e., they will develop malleability and be able to better adapt to certain circumstances).

So, even if YouTube advertisements or niche (but popular) social media accounts are telling you that you need to play "Genshin Impact" or buy a corset, think to yourself, are you a dead fish? No, you have your own set of morals, principles, values, etc. that help you decide what you want to play or wear. You are free to view other people's "sets," but to adopt good social media practices, sharing your professional input and ideas is important as well.

However, it would not do if you confined yourself in an echo chamber. Of course, you would want to build a reputable and indestructible brand, but if you're constantly fabricating yourself or blocking anyone who annoys you, it may become harder to grow as a person (when offline).
