Writer's Month 2022 Mobile Masterpost
Hello, darlings! Writer’s Month is back for the fourth time already in 2022 with a whole new set of prompts! You can, as always, find them in our pages, but seeing as those are only accessible on desktop, here’s all you need to know about Writer’s Month, mobile user edition.
WHAT IS WRITER’S MONTH?
Writer’s Month is a monthly prompt challange encouraging writers to create, happening all through the month of August every year. The idea originated from the artist equivalent that is Inktober, when the mods thought it would be nice to have something like this for writers. It’s an open challange, there’s no sign ups required, no minimum wordcount or required genre. We accept fiction, non-fiction, fanfic, original work, poetry, prose - the idea is just to have fun and make content!
RULES & GUIDELINES
1. All fandoms and ships are welcomed. So is original content. NSFW content is allowed, but please tag it accordingly! These prompts are for everyone to fill with whatever they want to write! Which also means: No bashing/attacking people.
2. Writer’s Month is a month long daily prompt event. We offer two daily prompts, one word prompt and a prompt for a setting or AU. To participate, you have to use at least one of these given prompts - you can challenge yourself and use both prompts, but it is not required.
3. You will have one week to fill each prompt. Which means that posting starts on August 1st and ends on September 6th, if you want it to be counted toward a badge (see #7).
4. For writers with an AO3 account, we made an AO3 collection that you can submit your work into! It’s not a requirement to post your work on tumblr; likewise is it not required to post on AO3. One of them is enough!
5. All works submitted on tumblr should be tagged with #writersmonth2022 this year. Mention us in the post and we’ll reblog it onto the blog!
6. There is no word count limit, minimum or maximum. Write a drabble, a haiku, or a novel, whatever you feel inspired for.
7. After you completed the month, you need to fill a google form with all works linked - if you manage to fill all 31 prompts, you will get a special, personalized badge! Everyone else will be able to collect a participation badge from our blog.

Is anyone else curious about the Embla Empress? I know people head-cannon that’s she’s an abusive step-mother because she doesn’t want to wage war against Askr like Veronica does. But that’s not particularly interesting considering we don’t know anything about her other then she wants to end a war Embla can’t win. Also I feel like we can do better then Evil Step-Mother. I want to know if she knows her step-kids are possessed by a blood thirsty dead dragon, if not I wonder how she handles none of the nobles from Embla supporting her because she wants to end a fruitless war. Is anyone else curious to learn more about this empress or is it just me. I know asking for that kind of nuance is asking a lot of Heroes, but the story possibilities. Watch her end up being evil in the end anyway. Smh
