so according to this [very drunk] sir in Tete Isle, Paititi is something of an alternate name for Tete Isle, hence why that one World Quest was named that-

but, uh, is that right? no matter how much i stretch, and trust me i'm an expert, i can't really get golden or country from Tete Isle. like, why would you refer to Tete Isle as a golden country? are they really the same?

and then he hints at the treasure we do actually find, with the correct location. however... that treasure only appears after you do that one quest with the weird dream. i think if you go to the north of the isle before doing the quest, the treasure isn't here at all. and you expect me, me, to believe the treasure we find was really just buried by the resort's staff and not connected to the dream at all? even if we want to say that the authorities happened to bury it while the traveler was dreaming or something, we are in 'repeating patterns and cycles and narratives: the game'. who's to say they aren't indeed two different treasures, but meant to parallel eachother?

going back to the 'golden country' bit for a little - have we ever heard of something resembling a golden country in Natlan? not Hyperborea, not Remuria, not Saleh, but in Natlan?

we have! one of the Local Legends. one in the Night Kingdom, even. to become a Local Legend in Natlan, one thinks you would have to be lore relevant to Natlan. like it could technically refer to Hyperborea or the other golden cities, but i'm not sure if that would count for a Natlan local legend? let alone in the Night Kingdom?

also, Tlatzacuilotl apparently means bridge, door, or gate. so like, a gate to the golden city? does he act like a bridge to it, or is he known by this name because he's the one who passed a bridge? [also, his totem is in the Children of Echoes area, and he himself is a Tepetlisaurus Warrior... that's like, the furthest place from Tete Isle...]

but there's nothing like a golden city recorded in Natlan's history... aside from that Uhane dialogue and this local legend. and, if there is some bridge thing, it may be hidden or not easily findable? at least you clearly cannot just waltz into like in Ochkanatlan, for example.

and since the quest and the achievement, and even Uhane's dialogue, all connect Paititi to dreams...

is it a place that exists in dreams?

when i thought zeitlind's quest was the pinnacle of hopecore, but project moongazer comes around to show me the TRUE pinnacle of hopecore. it's so hard to actually write down my thoughts because the entire questline left me with such a profound feeling that i can't truly describe. this is easily their best quest because the story and presentation were a massive step above -- it felt like a full-blown traveler archon quest, not a world quest. the introduction of everyone who worked on this project, of the moongazers who held out hope that their signal would one day be received, made me so emotional. the time they poured over this was not in vain because the travelers received the message in the end. even if they arrived 'late' and missed the era when dragonkind were still alive, it brought them here nonetheless. they answered that call.
