He takes a deep breath, her perfume filling his lungs— sugar and vanilla, like a treat waiting to be devoured. Without shame, his red gaze roams every inch of her, drinking in the sight of her like a man starved.

It is always such a pleasure to work with you ‹𝟹 I am still on break rn, so I'll be posting this and going back into my little hidey-hole ^^ also, the original blurb I wrote for this got out of hand . . . so that almost 4k thing is scheduled to be posted today in an xreader format, if anyone is interested :3

"You're staring," she murmurs, while balancing the small fork in her fingers, though the way she presents herself on the edge of the long table in Sylus's private dining room makes it impossible not to do just that—blatantly stare.

The man in question leans back in his chair across from her, one arm draped lazily over the armrest while crimson eyes roam appreciatively over her shape.

"Of course I am," he agrees calmly. "It's my birthday." He says it so very smugly, like he truly learnt a lot from the past year and the first birthday the two had shared together.

Though that won't stop her from rolling her eyes at him before scooping up a small bite of cake. "That doesn't mean you get to act like a king."

A soft chuckle leaves him at her warning, but to her it sounds much more like a pleased little rumble. "Oh, kitten." Nothing but a velvety smooth drawl before his eyes finally flick up to smoulder her with their intensity. "But I thought that's what it means to celebrate one's birthday."
