I'm a straight guy, but he might be, for me at least, the ideal example of "sexy clown". unfortunately virtually unknown outside Japan, but in Japan is one of the more celebrated vtuber singers.
Omaru Polka (Hololive)
I feel bad 'cause I'm not sure what to say about her Orz. she is definitely on the less depressed side of clowns, I never watched her much but I did like her.
Rikiichi would have been so fun in the poll but I feel like if people are judging by personality, he has such a specific Japanese humor and presentation that I think only appeals to a niche part of Tumblr. He often collabs with Juufutei Raden from Hololive Dev_Is and from the few times I've watched him, he and Raden are in a similar category of like "modern Japanese storyteller" that he doesn't quite fit the concept of clown besides presentation. He's charismatic and overall a fun personality especially during collabs, it's fun to watch him and Raden volley each other whenever they collaborate.
While, Polka is... actually closer to the depressed side of clowns. I'd argue she can be even more dark clown than Bettel and she equally has a sharp wit since she's well read and wanted to be a librarian pre-Hololive. Lore wise she's technically a circus ring leader than a clown but she has the spirit of a mad clown to a T. Her original songs Hologram Circus and Persona really shows the two sides of her character:
Hologram Circus showcase her chipper, fast talking performer side and how she always ready to have fun.
Persona on the other hand...
It completely breaks lose with her vocal range AND showcasing her sharp wit. She sings about how maddening show business is as the lyrics reference Jungian Psychology which is where the psychology concept of persona and facet identities come from.
She also has made literature references in streams as well has some bedtime asmr reading videos, she's deceptively smart but in a way it makes her role as the circus leader and clown more cooler.
I'm a Omaruza so I'm a little more bias about her, it's been awhile since I watch her streams but I always have a soft spot for this crazy circus ring leader.
