Do you support the use of AI? I've heard some things from other people but wanted to make sure before blindly believing what I read
I have a very conflicted opinion on AI, and I think it HEAVILY depends on what itās used for. My opinion actually changed while researching for this response - it turns out AI-generated images and videos are much more harmful to the environment than I thought. TL;DR: Personally, I donāt mind AI being used for research and text-only responses. Heavily against AI-generated images/videos and using it to replace art or writing. Art - NOPE. I strongly dislike AI being used for art. Artists spend a lot of time and effort making their art, and the fact that someone can just type a prompt and generate art without much effort is outrageous. To me, the entire reason art is beautiful is BECAUSE itās human made, and because of all the effort that was put into it. It takes pretty much no effort or creativity to just type in a few prompts and get your art. Plus, ai-generated images just look weird as hell IMO. Writing stories - Same as my opinion on art, except with an even stronger dislike because itās harder to tell if a storyās ai generated than if art is ai generated. Human judgement - Also heavily disagree. Giving AI the power to ban someoneās account or delete their stuff without human authorization is a huge mistake. AI is nowhere near perfect, and can absolutely make mistakes. AI, if itās used at all, needs to have some sort of way to check in with humans before doing anything like deleting or banning accounts. Research - this is where my opinion changes. I think AI can be genuinely useful for research. As an example: Iām designing my own custom set of foot tickling stocks, and I just asked ChatGPT a couple questions such as āWhat range of foot sizes do most adults fall into?ā and "What type of cord is soft on toes but also strong?" and stuff like that. Itās not perfect - but it is useful for research and as an assistant. Environment - Iām strongly against AI generated videos and AI generated images now because I've realized how much it harms the environment. A simple AI text response dosenāt do much, but generating images and videos uses a lot more water, and thatās the way AI is truly destroying our environment. Hereās a source to back this up. i covered my face for privacy and my own peace of mind of course, but you get the idea. also, i could be wrong here, but i never talked about going bald, so idk where that came from. he immediately deleted it too, so he for sure knew it was weird, but my first instinct was to take a screenshot, and iām glad i did.
thereās also the issue of him disrespecting boundaries after already having been told, and using autism as an excuse. i havenāt personally experienced this with him, but i know a few people who have. however, thatās not for me to talk about, so anyone who has had negative experiences with him are welcome to add onto this. no pressure though!
