“ Wait Sharon, no. ” His brow furrowed as a small frown adorned his face and he shook his head urgently, evidently bothered by her plan. “ You can’t go there. The moment you walk through those doors they are going to apprehend you, and not just to take your job. ” 

The sheer nature of the conversation had him glancing around once more for any unwanted attention listening in. Lowering his voice, he leaned forward on his elbows a little, urgent in his insistence. “ You’ll end up in that Raft if they get their hands on you. You need to stay off the grid now. ”

Worried that she might not have realized exactly how much trouble she was in, Ryan quickly started to sift through possibilities in his mind. If she was going to stay off of the CIA’s radar they were going to need to come up with a plan or two - and good ones at that.

“ Don’t thank me yet, Carter. ”

Alright. So maybe that was something she’d been trying not to think about. Maybe there was a part of Sharon that was feeling just a little bit...sacrificial. But Ryan was right -- and that had clearly been something she’d needed to hear from someone else.

She couldn’t go back.

She held back a sigh, pushed down everything she was feeling, told herself that she’d done what she knew was the right thing. She glanced back up at Ryan, lips curling into a tight smile.

“So I guess that’s it, then. Goodbye, Sharon Carter.”
