jaewook let out a small noise and resisted the urge to roll his eyes, he opted to to look up at felix and speak instead, “do you plan on doing anything with my not-calm hormones?” jaewook looked back at his work, slipping his foot out of the first skate before quickly moving to the other, working on undoing the laces. “i know you do - but i’m fine,” he commented before pulling his other foot free, immediately going to slip his feet back into his shoes, “i promise, okay soohan?” jaewook still didn’t know how to just accept felix’s worry with feeling any frustration. it set him on edge - especially coupled with the words i’m sorry. he was trying his hardest not to push back, especially with the fact that they were on a date. “anything? really?” he asked now moving from his spot to begin to untie felix’s shoes. 

jaewook pulled his hand back from felix’s and ran his fingers over his own hair. then they were on the same train of thought. he let out a long breath, a small voice in his head telling him to just stay calm. jaewook planned to use everything in him to follow those two words - albiet it was hard to follow, especially since post crash. “i wasn’t sure if i should bring that up.” he finally spoke once he trusted his voice.

jaewook had been on his way back to his and joohyeon’s room when a voice stopped him. he turned on his heels and immediately moving in the direction of the source. he found exactly who he thought it was - ilwoo. he’d been told that they were considering adding another member of no exit to the roommate cast, but he’d been expecting to see sam or tae oh. ilwoo’s presence came as a pleasant surprise to him, seeing as jaewook got along with him better than, well, most people. “oh,” he spoke greating his older friend, “it’s you, hyung,” his eyes moved to his bag for a moment, “did you just get here?” 

Joohyeon couldn’t really say he knew how exactly Jaewook felt. He’d managed to get the hang of the shoes relatively quickly, even faster than Seonghwa who usually was the best at latching on to new choreography. It felt strange to be in this position when he was usually the one who lagged behind everyone else. But he knew the frustration of just not being able to execute something. “I know.” It was hard to know what to say around Jaewook sometimes, and it wasn’t because Joohyeon didn’t like him. It was more because they were so different that sometimes communication between them became difficult. “You’ll get it eventually, you just have to get used to the shoes.”

jaewook glared down at the shoes as joohyeon spoke. though he knew there was truth in his words, they just made him feel more frustrated. he wasn’t meant to be the one in this position. jaewook didn’t want to get used to the shoes. the shoes were the problem, but he knew even if he got used to them the concept of rolling around on stage wouldn’t feel right to him. the idea made him feel so unsteady. “i keep landing wrong.” he admitted still staring down at his feet. by landing wrong he simply meant putting his feet down in a way which cause his heel to hit the wheel. jaewook rubbed the side of his head - the headache he felt approaching was still doing just that. he looked over at joohyeon, his expression set into it’s usual one, “the wheels are really throwing me off.”

Joohyeon fell silent for a moment. He wanted to help. But he was never really good at trying to gauge Jaewook’s mood. He couldn’t tell if continued pushing would just make the younger angry. “It’s hard to get a hang of switching your weight.” He said carefully. He felt bad for Jaewook, it couldn’t be easy for him at the moment. His natural instinct was to help the other male. But Jaewook kept shooting him down and Joohyeon wasn’t entirely sure how to deal with that. “Well if you change your mind…” He took a long pause hoping that he wasn’t pushing too much, but also slightly frustrated that Jaewook wasn’t allowing him to help.

jaewook huffed, lowering himself into a seating position on the floor so he could slowly but the awful shoes back on his feet. he could practically feel in the air how much joohyeon wanted jaewook to accept his offer. sometimes, jaewook wasn’t really sure how to be around the older boy. it wasn’t that he didn’t like joohyeon, he did, he was very fond of him in fact. jaewook’s default setting was harsh and joohyeon could be, well, fragile (especially since after the crash). more often than not, he wasn’t able to calm his temper (even around the people he did care for) so sometimes distance was easiest. once the shoes were on he ran his hands over his face and hair, taking in a deep breath. “it feels impossible.” he spoke, his frustration very clear in his voice. 

jaewook froze a little. a large part of him was still upset over the fact that felix hadn’t even thought to invite him to the event. he told himself that he probably had his reasons for not wanting jaewook there. “what about it?” he asked, his voice quieter. he didn’t want to bring up any hard feelings that he held before hearing out what felix had to say. for all he knew something proper had gone wrong and felix wanted to vent to him. jaewook could hold his tongue - at least for the mean time. he’d pushed the thought away for as he didn’t want to get mad at felix, but the feeling had returned.

“you’re the one who mentioned getting me into bed. my hormones are calm.” jaewook went and sat at the bench where their shoes were, bending down to untie his skates, “if you wait a sec i can take your’s off for you.” continuing on with their earlier topic he huffed a bit, “i wont get sick from wearing a wet pair of pants. i’m only cold because it’s freezing in there, because you know. ice.” he looked up at felix his fingers beginning to loosen the laces on one of his skates. at felix’s next comment he looked down at the sweater he was in, “do i?” he moved his hand to tug gently at the collar of the sweater. in truth it was an article of clothing he’d never pick out for himself.

the worry jaewook was feeling only got worse by the way felix was acting. letting out a short sigh he spoke, “i told you you could talk to me,” he looked down at their hands for a moment, the back at felix, “so talk.” jaewook wasn’t at all certain why felix was behaving this way, so he didn’t know how to open up a conversation. the only way for that was to get felix to do it.

“i could change and then we could go somewhere else?” jaewook offered, started to pull felix back into the direction of the change room. when they stepped off the ice he reluctantly let go of felix’s hands, “unless you are that desperate to get me into bed.” he paused to grin at felix before pushing the door open to the change room letting felix walk in first, “i’m not sick soohan, i just need different pants. i’m already in your sweater. you’ve already taken care of me.”

jaewook of all people knew what it was like to be pushed bombarding with the question ‘are you okay’. he was constantly being asked if something was wrong or being told that he should be happier. jaewook got that question to often and he didn’t want to force it onto felix even if he knew was something was wrong. felix was visibly upset and jaewook had no clue what to do about it.  “soohan...” he spoke not sure of where to actually go with his words. he gave felix’s hand a tight squeeze.

jaewook’s frowned deepened at felix’s words and actions. without standing he reached up and took hold of felix’s hand, tugging at him, “soohan,” he spoke softly looking up at him with his attempt at a reassuring smle, “don’t apologize - you can talk to me. stay?” he asked hoping he’d agree. he felt worried and besides, he didn’t really want felix to go find bailey. jaewook’s only encounter with that boy didn’t exactly go well and he wasn’t sure if bailey had relayed the tale to felix - jaewook sure hadn’t.

“i look familiar?” jaewook questioned, glancing over at hyunshik. being one of the lesser popular members of a nobody boy group, jaewook hardly ever expected to look familiar to anyone. if anything, the few fans he had were from overseas. he looked away from the other and continued walking, “no exit. we’re under lc.” the group that got into that really bad car accident a few years ago, he added in his mind. though usually if people had heard of no exit that’s all they knew about. “are you an idol too?” in truth, jaewook didn’t really know much about other groups - he did before the crash but he’d lost track of things and hadn’t ever bothered to learn about those outside of lc again.
