Prompt 451
"[Villain]!" The hero cursed at the sky as another box arrived at their doorstep.
After the villain stole their credit card and identity, the hero had expected some kind of blackmail, or physical attack. Maybe even attempted murder.
But this was worse. The neighbours were openly concerned, and their living room was getting full.
Reluctantly, the hero signed off on their sixth shipment of assorted sex toys this week.

Prompt 450
"I chose you." The teen's eyebrow twitched. "Out of everyone, I - the Chosen One wanted you. Why can't you take that as a compliment?"
Anger flared, and she snarled before any realization of status and power could stop her. "All I see is a spoiled rotten, toilet-licking, proudly pathetic child who wouldn't know love if it bit him on his limp di-"
The teen - the Chosen One - lunged.
Prompt 449
The beats pulsed in Hero's bones, and the flickering lights danced across their closed eyelids. The nightclub was crowded, a little smelly, and far too invigorating for a Hero used to consistent adrenaline. That said, a night off from patrolling was nice.
"Alrightttttt, let's keep this party going! Throw out some song requests and let's work. Some. Magic." A familiar voice crowed over the loudspeaker.
Hero winced, turning slowly to look at the figure behind the mic. Please don't look at me, please don't look at me. The siren-tongued villain threw back another bottle, cheering and spraying droplets over the microphone and the exuberant crowd.
Their eyes met, and the villain's face went from shocked, to scared, to calculating and finally to excitement. Hero bolted for the door.
"Don't let anyone leave until I finish my set," The villain cooed, and this time, their voice was heavy with honey and thorns and the consistent pull to obey, obey, obey. The crowd's eyes glazed over, and several sets of hands grabbed at Hero. "I have so many ideas for audience participation."

Prompt 448
The snow crunched under the hero's feet as they struggled with the wood slung over their shoulder. Following the well-loved trail, they curved around the towering trees and headed back to their new home.
In different circumstances, they would have enjoyed the peace and quiet of the forgotten mountain cabin. Perhaps in another lifetime, the hero lived in the mountains for desire, not in hiding.
They neared the cabin and froze. A second set of footprints - not the hero's - trailed from the road and led into the cabin.
And the hero would recognize that bootprint anywhere.
Prompt 447
"I've been thinking about what to do when I catch you," the villain hummed thoughtfully. The hero slid further into their stance against the cobblestones.
"Originally, I thought a dungeon would be nice. Good way to stuff out that light." The villain laughed and slapped their forehead. "What was I thinking? Trophies need a display case."
Shadows edged out of the alley, surrounding the hero.
"I've cleared a spot on my wall - high and centered for the celestial wonder. Sure, it's heartless, and you won't last long without food and water, but," the villain sighed forlornly with a shrug as the shadows surged toward the hero. "Shooting stars are only pretty because they fade."

Prompt 446
Introducing a partner to parents was always odd, but this was hands down their worst experience. Hero thought they would die of embarrassment.
"Dinner was marvellous." Villain dabbed their mouth with a corner of their cape - their formal one - and beamed at Hero's parents. They smiled politely back.
"I'm currently hiring for an open position," Villain added with a meaningful look at the older couple. "Looking for hard workers, good cooks, lots of experience..."
Oh no. Hero was wrong - it could get worse.
Their dad raised his eyebrows. "You're offering us a job?"
Villain's smile, if possible, grew wider. "An internship."

Prompt 445
"No. You can't wear your supersuit to meet my parents." The hero held the bridge of their nose.
"Fine," The villain frowned. "How about just a cape?"
"[Villain], I really want them to like you. And showing up to dinner announcing your less-than-stellar background is not going to help. So, can you please wear something nice? And fancy?"
The villain nodded, seriously considering this. "That's fair." They grabbed something bright purple from the back of the closet. "I'll wear my formal cape!"
The entire fabric shimmered with bowties.
Prompt 444
"Sorry sweetcheeks," the villain shoved their boot into the sobbing hero's shoulder, pushing them further into gravel. "But the other criminals are wayyyyy off."
The hero feebly tried to push them off, blood streaming down their forehead and puddling on their neck.
"Flying under the radar, playing nice with others... letting heroes live does nothing for my reputation. Plus, I'd miss this too much. " With a wink, the villain moved their boot to the hero's neck and pressed. "Thanks for understanding."
Prompt 443
"Honey, we can't." she said uncomfortably. "He's our son-"
Her husband slammed his hand on the kitchen table without moving his eyes from their shaking child. "He's a bloody hero. And he's been ratting us out to the others."
The look in her husband's eyes was horribly familiar. She stepped between her love and her son.
Prompt 442
"Hero..." she said wearily. "I'm flattered, but I can't date you." She knew what he saw. A tired, slightly ruffled civilian with a penchant for turtlenecks. "It would never work."
Hero's face fell and he let the flowers drop. "But... why?"
"I'm a criminal." The words escaped her before she even thought about it. "Heroes and villains don't have positive relationships."
Hero didn't miss a beat. "Oh, my parents are going to love you." he said with a grin.
Prompt 441
The crowd tittered in front of City Hall. By the time the hero arrived, they were too late to stop the dozens of news cameras focused on the new addition to the building.
"Oh geez," the hero groaned, dragging a hand across their face. "Not again!"
It took exactly one week for the cleaners to remove the very large, somewhat artistic, and extremely explicit graffiti mural of the hero and the villain.

Prompt 439
"Never expected to see the goodie two-shoes here," the villain slurred. The bar patrons ducked their heads and tried to avoid the attention of the figure standing in the doorway. "A-Aren't you going to faint at the smell of vodka?”
Prompt 440
"Untie me." The hero strained against the chains, sweat beading on their face.
"Oh, but I'm such a big fan." The villain smiled, and the hero shuddered. "Seen all your stuff."
The hero had been kidnapped before, but never with this many blades decorating the walls. They swallowed. Dryly. "Glad you're such a fan."
"The minimalist talk you gave?" The villain gave a chefs kiss. "Molto bene. Really made me think." He trailed a thoughtful hand over his array of tools.
The hero shook as the villain turned to face them, chosen blade in hand.
His smile was all teeth. "You don't really need limbs to live, right?"
