I can't help but wonder...

I...I really hope this isn't a sick joke. I doubt it though because you're nice, nicer than my crew. And it sounds like yours isn't particularly kind either.

You don't need to be sorry for scaring me, though. Honestly, you've been kinder to me than any of my coworkers have, too. However it's possible that the two of us are able to communicate, I'd be so happy for the chance at talking to someone who really understands... even if you seem to be, um, some kind of mirror version of myself?

There's also vents that connect to your ship's medical too? Sometimes I overhear them too, but I wouldn't say the mechanic and the intern argue...It's more one-sided, on the mechanic's part. I do think his intern's trying his best. He even described his experience as "Awesome", several times... (I'm admittedly a bit worried for him.)

I...Work with my coworkers. We have occasional game nights and eat around the same times, but I wouldn't say we get along. I'd guess I'm the closest to the intern...But that's partially because he spends a lot of time in Medical getting patched up after a mishap in Utility. He also ends up winning during game nights...Which...Is definitely a change from previous hauls.

The mechanic is...He's stern, and he loses his temper often. I try to steer clear of him outside of the lounge, since there he's usually on break. He's also very vocal over his dislike for Pony Express, which is usually a talking point we share the same ground on.

Then there's the pilots I work with...The captain doesn't really...Open up, not to me at least. Not to say he's cold to me, he's...Just far more focused on hauls than the crew. Except for the co-pilot, they've known each other for a while, according to him.

Speaking of, the same used to go for the co-pilot. When he wasn't (or couldn't) ignoring me, he's...A lot. He rarely looks at me, never in the eyes. Now it's gotten weirder. He's seem to have taken the psychological evaluations I have to do as even more of a joke lately...

I worry that I'd sound like a broken record if I described how things are for myself. We have the same crew count and... I don't know, archetypes...?

I'd say that I also get along best with our intern, and the mechanic is often rude, but he's not outright malicious. I think he just doesn't like anyone he works with, really, so I suppose it isn't targeted towards me in particular. I do my best, though I don't feel particularly close with anyone I work with...

The captain doesn't like open up. I'd really like to figure out what's going on underneath the surface, so I could help, but it's easier said than done... The co-pilot here is dismissive and ignores me, most of the time, but treats me like a joke when he's actually paying attention to what I say. It doesn't help that he and the captain are best friends...

It's not exactly the dream team, but it's what I've got to work with. I can't help but wonder how many other things we have in common... Next thing you know, you'll be telling me your name is Anya too, heheh... Now, that would be much more than a coincidence.

I wouldn't be surprised if we have the same scenery on our window screens...Pony Express doesn't really focus on the smaller details, ha...

As for me, I've also been on and off with working for them...I think for about...Hm, about nine years now? It's a bit hard to keep track of the days on hauls, but I think that's right!

And...My freighter is about what you would expect from Pony Express. It's a very old ship, something seems to break every other day, but the mechanic I work with manages to fix it relatively quickly (well...when he's not complaining at his intern...). I think one of the few positives is that Medical is just a short walk from the lounge!

ah, sorry if that sounded strange for me to say all of that! it's just that... i also happen to have an intern working on the ship with our mechanic. what are the odds, right?

i suppose i could share a bit more about myself, too, though! maybe that'll help, um, differentiate! i've been working for pony express for a little less time, though it's maybe about six or seven years by now...? i can't quite remember, but i was in my early twenties when i took on the job, and now i'm much closer to thirty. it isn't exactly the job i thought i'd stick with for so long, but it pays for expenses until i get where i really want to go in life...

Ha, that's...Oh. Wait, I think I recognize you. Your...Profile picture looks awfully like the picture I took when I had my ID issued. Though maybe that's just because something isn't loading right-I have to use my ID to have access to it, and I still don't think Pony Express spent too much money on computer programming, at least when it doesn't help their profits.

strangely enough, i'm having a hard time accessing your profile, as well... probably the shoddy connection in space, and all, but i swear, the night sky screen on your image looks just like the one on the freighter i work for! 

i'm not sure how long this will stay connected for, but i'd be very interested in trying to keep in touch—only if you'd like to, as well, of course! it would be so nice to talk to someone that isn't one of my coworkers who i see every day. hahah!
