The original booklet included with the 2006 Ciné Malta DVD of Midori in French and English, with brief biographies of Hiroshi Harada, J.A Seazer, and Suehiro Maruo and a short piece by Harada about how Midori was made. This booklet seems to confirm that the film was indeed banned in Japan at one point and was destroyed by Japanese customs, though the exact nature of the ban is unknown.
