❥Yankii Fuku is the rougher side of Gyaru, they are refered to as a type of delinquent youth. They travel in packs, have a rebellious attitude, are tough, not afraid of a fight, and care free.

❥They wear track suits, manual laborer jumpsuits with work gloves, bright color (not always) non-regulated school uniforms. They put patches, or embroidered insignia’s/Kanji of they’re group/crew on their attire. They also wear kamikaze pants and shirts, military clothing, and traditional Japanese clothing.

❥Sometimes they carry bats or, a bokken (a Japanese wooden sword used for training), sometimes wears medical masks, or construction masks.

❥Also, they sometimes have Yakuza tattoos. Some are yukuza (Japanese mafia) youth, or in common street gangs.

❥This whole style is all about Japanese pride. There is Gyaru styling of this life style, It’s called Ora ora kei.

above are examples of tsuyome gyaru, meaning "strong," and in this case, bold / flashy. tsuyome involves bright colors, heavy accessories, big / dyed hair, and bold makeup. tsuyome is more of an umbrella term for heavily decorated gyaru styles.

tsuyome manba is ALSO a thing. if tsuyome means strong / bold, it's clear that tsuyome manba is an even MORE extravagant version of manba. deep tans, super long hair, and very heavy accessories make a regular manba a "tsuyome manba"

above are examples of oraora or ora ora kei. roughly translating to "evil kei" from its connections to yankii - rebel youth groups / gangs. coords are often black with gold or silver hardware (belts, buttons, chains etc.), often paired with tall black boots or heels.

to reiterate: tsuyome gyaru is an umbrella term for bold/decorated gyaru, while ora ora kei is an edgier substyle.

none of this really matters outside of style archiving, nomenclature, and just expanding your gyaru vocabulary. i enjoy sharing some of the semantics of gyaru just for information purposes.
