I love Jimin more than any ship, but that doesn’t mean Jungkook is somehow less important to me. I genuinely care about him too. I don’t see him simply as “the other half of Jikook” or as someone whose value depends on his relationship with Jimin. He is his own person, with his own friendships, feelings, interests and life.

That’s also why I don’t like the way people constantly compare Jungkook’s relationships with the members. Jungkook being close to Tae doesn’t make him less close to Jimin. Spending time with Hobi doesn’t mean he doesn’t care about Jin or Yoongi. And not spending time with someone publicly doesn’t suddenly erase years of friendship.

I can appreciate Jungkook and Tae’s friendship without needing to use it against Jimin. And I can appreciate Jungkook and Jimin’s bond without needing to use it against Tae. I don’t need one relationship to be “the real one” for another relationship to matter.

The same goes for Jikook. I can enjoy their moments, feel that they have a very special bond, and still understand that I don’t know what their private relationship looks like. I don’t need to turn every interaction into proof of anything.

What I also don’t want is for people to use the hate Jimin receives as a reason to convince others that Jungkook doesn’t care about him. That doesn’t protect Jimin, and it doesn’t respect Jungkook either. Their relationship doesn’t become less meaningful just because some people choose to weaponize it.

And honestly, I don’t want to police Jungkook’s relationships either. He is allowed to have different kinds of closeness with all six members. He is allowed to have his own friends, his own interests and his own life outside BTS. I would never expect him to spend all his free time with Jimin just because I love their bond.

First of all, Jimin means more to me than any ship ever could. I care about him as a person and as an artist first, and I will never consider a ship more important than his well-being. But that doesn’t mean I have to erase or minimize his bond with Jungkook in order to prove that I support Jimin.

What frustrates me is seeing people use the hate Jimin receives as a reason to argue that he and Jungkook must not be close. I understand the intention behind it — some fans genuinely believe that if they stop people from shipping Jimin and Jungkook, Jimin will receive less hate. But Jimin was being hated long before today’s interaction, long before jikookers were making posts about every little moment. His existence and his place in BTS have unfortunately been enough for certain people to target him.

So I don’t think the solution is to make Jimin “less important” to Jungkook.

One moment between Jimin and Jungkook doesn’t prove that they’re dating. But Jungkook spending time with Taehyung doesn’t prove that he cares less about Jimin either. Both things can be true: Jungkook can have a beautiful, close friendship with Taehyung and also have a meaningful, long-standing bond with Jimin. We don’t need to compare them or turn one relationship into evidence against another.

And I don’t think appreciating Jimin and Jungkook’s bond automatically means putting a ship above Jimin. I can enjoy their interactions, love their friendship, and even enjoy jikook while still knowing that Jimin comes first for me.

What I wish people would remember is that Jimin shouldn’t have to become less affectionate, less visible or less connected to another member just because some people choose to weaponize those interactions against him. The responsibility for harassment belongs to the people doing the harassing.

I also don’t want to pretend that every tiny interaction is proof of a romantic relationship. I don’t know what happens between them privately, and neither does anyone else here. I just know that they have a long history, they clearly care about each other, and I don’t need to define their relationship to appreciate it.

At the end of the day, I’m here because I love Jimin. I want him to be happy, loved and surrounded by people who make him feel safe. And if that includes Jungkook — whether as a best friend, a soulmate-like friend, a member of his BTS family, or simply someone important in his life — I’m happy to appreciate that bond without needing to turn it into a competition with anyone else.
