In the past few weeks, two people I’m connected to on here had their blog randomly nuked by tumblr for seemingly no reason. If Redditors’ reports are accurate, this is becoming increasingly more common.

I’ve already saved the list of blogs I’m following, and I’ve exported and backed up the ~15k posts and reblogs on this main blog. The only thing I have to do now is figure out a way to save the 1.2k+ reblog and post drafts I have saved across two blogs.

Anyway, if I suddenly disappear, you’ll know why. If that happens, I’ll be hanging out on my backup blog (@novafire-is-still-here) while I fight the tumblr gods to get this blog back.

Ngl, most Transformers merch circulating in Western fandom circles sucks.

I think a lot of it has to do with the heavy reliance on mass-producible consumables, and while I get that it’s cheaper and easier, that doesn’t account for the repetitiveness of art styles and themes. I guess the idea is a lot of artists like to play it safe and make what already sells, but while I like a cute charm, pin, sticker, or standee as much as the next fan, it’s getting stale. I’m starved for more creativity and experimentation.

After stumbling on some stunning pins for other fandoms that blow every Transformers pin I’ve seen out of the water, and having recently seen (and purchased) some TF merch from Chinese and other East Asian markets, I’m even more disillusioned with Western TF merch offerings than I was before.

This means either it’s time for me to drag my fully Chinese friend to China and go TF con hunting or it’s time for me to develop my art skills and be the change I want to see in the world. But the former requires money and time I don’t have, and the latter requires me to have a stable source of income that doesn’t demand all my energy. So those are far off dreams for now.

God me and some friends are talking abt being dense af rn and i just remembered this one time i was shopping w my dad and i wanted to get rainbow shoelaces at the dr martins shop. Currently watching: the world fall apart I’m working my way through some of Clive Owen’s filmography. It started with Anon, and I just finished Children of Men a few nights ago. I’m charmed by Owen’s looks, voice, accent, and the character archetypes he often plays.

Currently reading: Nothing besides resource and news articles to help me figure out how to prepare for the changes coming based on things happening all over the globe. I just finished “Project Hail Mary” last month, though. Also, I was slowly working my way through the audiobook for “Ambessa: Chosen of the Wolf,” but I can’t finish now since I cancelled my Spotify premium subscription to save a bit of money.

Current obsession: Decreasing reliance on digital media and tools in favor of analog solutions; I’m putting together a list and plan for myself. Also, I’m admiring the Lamborghini Temerario. <— Slap some gold paint on this beast, and it’s the perfect modern alt mode for Sunstreaker (imo).
