There are 12 houses in Astrology. Each house is associated with an astrological sign, planet, and certain life events and personal traits.
The first house starts on the left side of the chart and the houses go around the chart in a counter clockwise direction.
In your chart the houses are always the same, but the sign that is in the house changes based on your individual birth time and location. For instance you can have Scorpio in the 1st house, and this would shift which signs influence the house, but the basic traits stay the same. Lets take a look at the houses and some of their basic information below.
A little more info on "Rising Signs" (AKA Ascendants) -
The star sign that is in the 1st house is the constellation that was on the eastern side of the sky (where the sun rises, hence rising sign) when and where you were born. So in the example it would mean that the constellation of Scorpio was on the eastern horizon of the sky when this person was born, so it becomes the "rising sign," which is also known as the Ascendant.

Your deepest desires are in this house too, so it is worth it to dive into this one if you are working on healing
