Have you ever seen a violinist going APESHIT?!
Be sure to check out IAmDSharp!
GO OFFF
Ok so Iâve been playing for 18 years and iâm a string teacher. Can i just say how IMPORTANT it is for young kids to see a BLACK, MALE-PRESENTING PERSON playing, nae, SHREDDING on a violin? Iâve know maybe 5 black people who played stringed instruments throughout my schooling and teaching (predumably because iâm an upper middle class white woman). In districts where the population is predominantly black, funding is always low, so the instruments are crappy. Kids quit, or the program is dismantled. Iâve seen very few professional string players who are black.
Obviously there are black string players. We just donât see them because they âdonât look likeâ string players.
This person is the real deal. They were clearly trained, and seems to have some fiddle training as well. How cool is that?

Thatâs Louis Rossman, a repair technician and YouTuber, who went viral recently for railing against Apple. Apple purposely charges a lot for repairs and you either have to pay up or buy a new device. Thatâs because Apple withholds necessary tools and information from outside repair shops. And to think, we were just so close to change.

Have an iPhone and are in need of repairs
Have a friend with that problem
Hate Apple and are more than happy to spite them in some way
No one will know which is it
This guy inspired me to repair my own macbook. First of all, you should know that I am not⌠like, I have to look up HOW to look up what my computer specifications are. Tech, that ware either soft or hard, is not a subject in which I experience comfort or competence. But my puppy peed on my keyboard, and I asked the apple store, or the fucking mac cafe, or the godsdamn Computer House Chill Zone or whatever cute ass name they have for their bullshit store, and they said it would be TWELVE HUNDRED DOLLARS TO REPLACE MY KEYBOARD. Iâm not even exaggerating.
So I asked the internet, well how hard IS it to repair? And I saw this guyâs video, and while I am no techie, I AM fueled by spite, so I was all âoh, they do that shit on purpose specifically so they can charge me $1200 bucks or make me buy a new computer hunh? FUCK THEMâ and I bought all the tools I needed for about $25 and I bought all the parts I needed for about another $25 and I watched a few tutorial videos, and I replaced my own keyboard.
So, once you are doing the actual deed, it becomes pretty obvious that they are finding creative ways to make this much harder than it has to be on purpose. On thing that stood out to me is, instead of all the tiny screws being the same size, there are about two dozen very slightly different sizes. They could easily be all the same size, or like, two sizes at most, but no.
These mother fuckers will take a panel that screws into place and theyâll use a different size screw for each corner. They are so close that you almost cannot tell them apart visually, but they each will only screw into the matching corner. Like, itâs a pretty clear âfuck youâ to anyone trying to do repairs.
anyway, this guy is also fueled by spite, and doing holy work, and I have mad respect

None of the comments on the right work anyway. EVER.
Funny how sex is an irresistible human urge when a man rapes a woman but when a woman gets pregnant and wants an abortion she should have been smarter and thought twice before having sex if she didnât want a child
My reblog speed tho -
So quick
I think Iâve became the flash with how fast I rebloged this
THIS IS ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT
my mom was 17 and my dad was 27 when they got together and theyâre still together now after almost 40 years and they love their life and raised me and my sister in the best way ever!
and my whole life my parents told me that my mom was very mature and my dad even says that he never felt as sure of a relationship, he knew he could trust my mom and he asked her for advice and he treated her with the utmost respect. mom always says they were deeply in love and she had never wanted ANYONE before my dad but he just stole her heart since they were so in harmony together.
IT DEPENDS, NOT ALL TEENS CAN SUSTAIN A RELATIONSHIP WITH A MUCH OLDER MAN BUT SOME CAN!
no
no
noÂ
nonononono oh my fucking god
no
For starters, Iâm happy your mom and dad and you and your sister are happy, thatâs fantastic, Iâm glad it worked out.
but this is seriously fucked up
GROWN-ASS MEN. SHOULD NOT. BE ATTRACTED. TO TEENAGERS. NO. NO. NO.
Iâm a 17 year old dude and I physically can not be attracted to someone more than a year younger than me, because they are immature, they just are, no matter how âmatureâ they are, they. are. fucking. CHILDREN. I AM A CHILD. I have changed so, so much since just last year, and I know I will change even more this year. Teenagers ARE CHILDREN. They are STILL going through puberty, they are still growing, their minds are NOT adult yet. Even if they are 18, theyâre still trying to find their way in the world and their brains STILL ARENâT MATURED. You ask ANY 30+ year old about their 18 year old selves and 99% of them will say how naive they were or how they wouldnât make the same choices they made then, now.
The fact that your mom ACTED mature as a kid and had her head screwed on straight is great, but that makes it even worse to think that she could handle that kind of relationship. Thatâs like saying the 12 year olds that are super precocious and intelligent are ready for a relationship, just because theyâre ~so mature.~
What if she was 16. What if she was 15. What if she was 14. What if, what if. Sheâs still mature for her age, right? What makes those ages any less okay?
NO 27 YEAR OLD GUY SHOULD BE ATTRACTED TO A FUCKING MINOR. NO 27 YEAR OLD GUY SHOULD WANT TO DATE A MINOR. NO 27 YEAR OLD GUY SHOULD ACT ON THOSE URGES. BECAUSE YOUNG GIRLS ARE RAISED TO BE INSECURE AND HAVING A MATURE MAN TELL THEM THAT THEYâRE DESIRABLE IS A HUGE CONFIDENCE BOOST AND IS MANIPULATION WHETHER THEY KNOW IT OR NOT.
It is an adultâs RESPONSIBILITY to say no. If a minor likes them, or if they happen to develop feelings, even if they shouldnât. Just donât act on them. It is very, very easily to not act on feelings. It is your job to not be a creep and take advantage of a naive child.
IT IS NEVER OKAY FOR ANYONE TO DATE/COURT/INTERACT WITH A MINOR IN ANY SEXUAL OR ROMANTIC WAY. EVEN IF THEY HAVE ~NO BAD INTENTIONS.~ ITâS MANIPULATIVE AND A BIG SHIFT OF POWER EVEN IF ITâS ~EVEN~ AND ITâS SO SO SO CREEPY.
PLEASE DONâT PUT THIS OUT THERE FOR YOUNG GIRLS, OR BOYS, OR NON-BINARY KIDS TO SEE.
Because it is. not. okay. Even if it does work out eventually, it shouldnât have happened in the first place.
After my parents broke up, my dad, 33 yo, went into a relationship with a 18 yo. Theyâre still together to this day, had two beautiful children, and Iâm sure if my half siblings saw this post they would have commented the same as the first commenter. Because theyâre the relationshipâs children, and because theyâre hidden things a lot. Because I eavedrop a lot, I can tell you that this loving, perfect, romantic relationship is fucked up to the core. Because I needed to reach 33 yo myself to be fully aware how fucked up it was.
My dad didnât want to get into a relationship with an adult, and made an exception for my step mother because she was âso matureâ. He wanted a teen. Specifically a teen. He only dated teens. So he could raise them into the wife he wanted. It was totally calculated.
This is why theyâre still together this day. She dress like he wants, lost weight like he wanted, She became as racist and conservative as him. She does all the houses chores, sometimes even late at night, while he watches tv, like he wanted, and then tells everyone around him sheâs a clean freak and makes fun of her. He forced her to get an abortion, for a child she wanted. She still talks about it. She never forgot, never forgave him. And still, she stayed. Because she has no prior experience, and has no idea how bad their relationship is.
When an adult say that a teen is âmatureâ enough for a realtionship with him, he means sheâs submissive. He means she listens to him and is easily convinced by his opinion. He means sheâs calm and easy to deal with.Â
When an adult is attracted to a teen, theyâre attracted to their own dominant position in the relationship. A teen doesnât know what they want in life. So theyâre no conflict : the adult convince her that she wants what he wants. An adult is not attracted to a teen despite her age. Heâs attracted to her because of it. A mature teen is not an adult. Itâ something else, and no adult should date them.
Read this until you can say it in your sleep
My fucking hero forever.
Am I the only one thatâs a just a tiny bit pissed off that this is still an issue?
The Original Series wasnât even in the general VICINITY of fucking around yo
How many shows these days would do this, and do it this way? These days, it would be all, âOhh, we have to be sensitive and show the nuances of each sideâ and try not to make either side seem wrong. It wouldnât be clearly spelled out, âpro-choice is right, if youâre against it youâre the bad guys.â
Jim Kirk is not here for your anti-birth-control, anti-choice, pro-death-penalty BS
James Tiberius Kirk was written and portrayed as a feminist and I will fight anyone who says otherwise.
Yep. Â That episode is exactly what you think it is: Â pro-birth control, pro-population control, pro-choice, and pro-womenâs right to choose. Â And yes, Kirk, the supposed playboy of the spaceways, is in favor of all of the above.
It was written and aired in 1969. Â
It probably couldnât air today.
THINK ABOUT THAT.
Also LMAO at all the sad whiny geek boys who are like âI miss the GOOD OLD DAYS of SCI-FI when it wasnât all about SOCIAL ISSUES and instead it was just about MEN HAVING FUN IN SPACE. Like Star Trek! Star Trek wouldnât put up with all this SOCIAL JUSTICE FEMINISM IN SCI FI bullshit!â And meanwhile Iâm just over here like ââŚdid you actually watch the show?âÂ
@judicialmistrangementorder
Itâs also important to bear in mind that the Original Series had a predominantly female fanbase, and during its initial run, was widely mocked and dismissed by mainstream (i.e., male) science fiction fans as being fake sci-fi for girls. Itâs difficult to overstate the influence women had on the franchise in its early days; most of the early Star Trek conventions were organised by and for women, and indeed, those same organisers were primarily responsible for the massive letter-writing campaign that prevented the show from being cancelled after the 1968 season. Without that campaign, the episode pictured in this post would never have been made.
The popular image of James Kirk as a sleazy womaniser is part of a conscious effort to erase that history and render the franchiseâs roots palatable to the misogynistic geekboys of the modern SF/F fandom.
For a summary of those points, see âStar Trekâs Underappreciated Feminist Historyâ by Shannon Mizzi, which draws from Patricia Vettel-Beckerâs âSpace and the Single Girl: Star Trek, Aesthetics, and 1960s Femininityâ.
And a gentle reminder that TOS was a Desilu production, which its board of directors voted to cancel after the second pilot due to cost concerns, a vote that Chairman Lucille Ball overruled. There is no Star Trek without Lucille Ball.
Basically you have women to thank for Star Trek. Go suck on that, JJ Abrams.
Bringing this back because I recently saw a post from a dudebro complaining about how Star Trek has become all âPC and has an agendaâ unlike in the âgood old daysâÂ
so here is a clip from the âgood old daysâ of Star Trek not having an agenda.Â

STORY TIME:
I work in a decent sized, local, indie bookstore. Itâs a great job 99% of the time and a lot of our customers are pretty neat people. Any who, middle of the day this little old lady comes up. Sheâs lovably kooky. She effuses how much she loves the store and how she wishes she could spend more time in it but her husband is waiting in the car (OH! I BETTER BUY HIM SOME CHOCOLATE!), she piles a bunch of art supplies on the counter and then stops and tells me how my bangs are beautiful and remind her of the ocean (âWoooooshâ she says, making a wave gesture with her hand)
Ok. I think to myself. Awesomely happy, weird little old ladies are my favorite kind of customer. Theyâre thrilled about everything and theyâre comfortably bananas. I can have a good time with this one. So we chat and itâs nice.
Then this kid, whoâs been up my counter a few times to gather his school textbooks, comes up in line behind her (weâre connected to a major university in the city so we have a lot of harried students pass through). She turns around to him and, out of nowhere, demands that he put his textbooks on the counter. Heâs confused but she explains that sheâs going to buy his textbooks.
He goes sheetrock white. He refuses and adamantly insists that she canât do that. Itâs like, $400 worth of textbooks. She, this tiny old woman, bodily takes them out of her hands, throws them on the counter and turns to me with a intense stare and tells me to put them on her bill. The kid at this point is practically in tears. Heâs confused and shocked and grateful. Then she turns to him and says âyou need chocolate.â She starts grabbing handfuls of chocolates and putting them in her pile.
He keeps asking her âwhy are you doing this?â She responds âDo you like Harry Potter?â and throws a copy of the new Cursed Child on the pile too.
Finally sheâs done and I ring her up for a crazy amount of money. She pays and asks me to please give the kid a few bags for his stuff. While Iâm bagging up her merchandise the kid hugs her. Weâre both telling her how amazing she is and what an awesome thing sheâs done. She turns to both of us and says probably one of the most profound, unscripted things Iâve ever had someone say:
âItâs important to be kind. You canât know all the times that youâve hurt people in tiny, significant ways. Itâs easy to be cruel without meaning to be. Thereâs nothing you can do about that. But you can choose to be kind. Be kind.â
The kid thanks her again and leaves. I tell her again how awesome she is. Sheâs staring out the door after him and says to me: âMy son is a homeless meth addict. I donât know what I did. I see that boy and I see the man my son could have been if someone had chosen to be kind to him at just the right time.â
Iâve bagged up all her stuff and at this point am super awkward and feel like I should say something but I donât know what. Then she turns to me and says: I wish I could have bangs like that but my darn hair is just too curly.â And leaves.
And that is the story of the best customer Iâve ever had. Be kind to somebody today.
 I didnât reblog earlier.Â
So I am now.Â
Be kind. Itâs worth the effort.
Ths is such a beautiful story. I hope that her son got help and is doing okay.
