“Okay... so we can probably drop the Fizzgig as a cause. Yer dentition appears t’ be that of an obligate carnivore, so raw meat shouldn’t be too much of a problem for ye. Theoretically.

“Which narrows down the insect and berries. Copraphagous and necrophagous insects can carry a number of diseases at worst, and sickness at best.

@sundcred-and-undone‘s SkekAyuk hasn’t made the best impression to Jenny; her first thoughts assign the Gourmand as a downright bully-- altogether rather similar to the ones she faces at school. But maybe with SkekEkt’s help, their relationship might improve?

Pennywise cocked IT’S head. Deer don’t normally play with wolves? What was she going on about? IT knew she wasn’t being literal, changing the topic to wolves and deer for no reason. No, she was obviously referring to the relationship between predator and prey.

But to Pennywise, hunt and play were the same thing so the statement Deer don’t normally play with wolves- prey doesn’t play with predator- made no sense.

The creature did sort of take offense to the idea of having to promise anything, “–No one makes  any real effort for me  why do I  have to be the one  to promise–?” A hunt didn’t always end in a meal, sometimes it was just good fun. Still, the monster dutifully produce IT’S pinkie finger, despite IT’S scowl and that nasty business earlier, IT had no current plans to eat Jenny.

She wasn’t Derry born, she might taste funny.

⌑ Jenny chewed her lip a moment, piecing together her approach. “Sometimes, some people’re just waitin’ for the ‘okay’.” Not incredibly metaphorical now. IT hadn’t responded to her little predator-prey analogy; did IT even acknowledge ITself as a predator? Did such a thought cross IT’s mind? Lions care not for the thoughts of sheep; yet IT had interacted with humans before and negative reactions had, one way or another, affected IT-- at least according to the information granted to Jenny. 

 ⌑ “I know a whole lot’a kids in my class that wouldn’t talk to me ‘less I talk to ‘em first. But if ye promise-- and be sure to keep it-- maybe it’ll help other people relax ‘round ye. People don’t tend to easily make friends when they’re scared.” Gray eyes hesitantly scanned the offer pinkie, and her face turned resolute as she offered up her pinkie as well.

Oh, both of her māmā and pāpā are looking anywhere and everywhere for her! Although they give Jenny a good amount of freedom, they don’t know about her frequent climbing expeditions to the nearby desert outside their San Diego home. Jenny usually ditches and evades baby-sitters easily and returns before her parents get back home.

Oh, Jenny’s one of those kids who bottle up negative feelings or deny negative feelings or thoughts until the late hours when she has no one but herself and her own mind. She tries to be a tough, happy-go-lucky kid but things like this will most certainly leave some psychological scars— I mean, even just waking up on another planet would do that to anyone, much less a kid!

a new challenger approaches

⌑ Across the room, a vulture-like creature hunched idly over it’s chicken-scratch notes and well-worn tools scattered across the desk with lines of dust to indicate former placements of items haphazardly shoved to the side. Jenny didn’t remember much of her capture; only a hood over her head, the grip of two pairs of strong, clawed arms, and the sudden jolt of pain as her avian captor tossed her carelessly into the barred quarters.

⌑ Every problem has a solution. Every room has a weak spot. An inch of give at the welding, the mortar flaking at the brick’s alignment. Something. Something!
