sienna and dixie were made from an au of an au of an au. i was running low on ideas, got really into an alternate universe spiral and quinn told me to just make ocs. i got mad and stewed in it for 2 days, cut the umbilical cord, and from there i have known peace

14. Have any of your ocs been re-written? If so, what did their old version look like vs their new one?

this one was less of a "change" and more of "admitting that the bit is over" however i still find it funny. weve been working on giving anhema some interiority recently. her main problem before was that she had no motives and therefore acted like plot was inflicted on her, instead of being a character

i love putting ocs into different series just to see how theyd look. if anhema was a gem shed either be a ruby or baroque pearl, for her seemingly having no other choice in her life but to work in service to another

nix and anhema were initially fantrolls/fankids! im sure you can deduce who their parents were from early art:

ive been playing with them for so long, when my interest in homestuck waned i decided to center their human versions and attempt to make a story from that with the help of quinn. (the image above coincidentally shows the progression from fankids to human to changed designs. the anhema on the right is no longer accurate really)

the character progression from that is still alive and changing due to the struggles of making a story. equal amounts fun and torturous

honestly, i dont have any ocs that are strongly, morally, opposed enemies in my mind. im more fond of the evil woman + henchman duo. the closest i have are romeo & hestia (not introduced yet). if you count teenagers beefing online, kitty and frances are also enemies. i need to step up my game

i self-taught myself digital art but it is always so humbling to remember i can NOT do this w animation because Figure 1 (LMAO, 2026) was my first try at a walkcycle with no initial concept and a dream.

using the 298382 resources online is easier and more helpful because of experts who have been able to break down things into lovely steps for myself and i to put into practice. god bless animators and people who can do it better
