How do I stop comparing myself to others and feeling like I'm not enough?
That’s a hard one! It’s something I think we all struggle with. I know I do at least from time to time, it’s hard not to when you do youtube. I feel like I’m not doing enough with youtube and I see what others are doing and it makes me feel worse about it.
What I usually try to do is reaffirm the accomplishments I have done or try to reaffirm my belief in myself. That what I’m doing is good in its own right and try to eliminate the though of what others are doing in comparison to myself. I look to you guys and to my friends for support and validation in times of need.
Another good method is to use what others are doing to try motivate you to do more and try harder. It’s easy to sit back and think “Man they’re doing it all and have so many interesting things going on” and let that defeat you but sometimes it’s good to use that as a drive in yourself to do more.
Time isn’t going to wait for any of us. Our time is right now to do what we can and what we want so we should use that time the best we can. It’s not easy and sometimes it feels damn near impossible but anything can be done if you set your mind to it.
Honestly, this is the best advice. I struggle a lot with comparing myself to others, as I have a few different disorders and disabilities that make the struggle really complicated to deal with. I’ve been seeing a wonderful therapist (probably the best one out of the several I’ve had over the years) and she is teaching me this exact same thing you’re saying. I may not have had the same ‘normal’ life experiences that it seems everyone else has had, but that doesn’t mean that I’m lesser of a person or that I’m not good enough. It simply means that I have to work so much harder to get to experience the ‘normal’ stuff. I’m working on the motivation part, as I’ve immensely struggled with having a lack of motivation to do much of anything for far too long (a case of depression, GAD, and traumatic experience has left me mentally damaged from a situation that occurred nearly 10 years ago).
So, for that anon (if you even see this) or anyone else dealing with not feeling ‘good enough’, know that you already are, and you’re capable of pushing yourself to try something new or to better yourself. Just because you can do better, it doesn’t mean you aren’t good at all. Cake is great, but it is even better with frosting, so frost yourself and make yourself better! <3

I identify as asexual, and it does sound like anon could be asexual. Another reply said that there’s a whole spectrum of asexuality, so it is entirely possible to land somewhere in there! Anon, if you’re still young (in your teens or early 20s), try not to pressure yourself into thinking you have to fit a label. As Jack says, be what you wanna do! Be the best you that you can be!
