Norvegicus Works

Rat I did last week. He had a ton of slip on his side and belly but I think he turned out alright otherwise. Hopefully my cats won't eat this one.

My next project for my art class is to make a bust with the head of an animal. My plan is to do a fox made out of burlap with its body being one of my old shirts and holding a taxidermy rabbit. It’s very ambitious but I think it’ll turn out super cool.

Nine rats so far. Probably going to make one more small one and be done with it phew.

I’m not quite sure what I’m going to do after I glaze them, but I was thinking of using gold, silver, and copper leaf on them to give them a bit of flair. I’m not sure, I just feel like it’d really contrast what people tend to think about rats as being trashy but with the leaf it becomes classy.

Found a mummified(?) rat on the side of the road while I was walking home during my free period! I’m going to clean him up later probably.

Well then. My cat got ahold of my mouse and ate his head. I cried about it a lot but this will just be a funny story in the future.

The first mammal I’ve done and I did it all by myself. It was a good learning experience and I think he turned out alright for a first try!

Going to start this blog off with some dead birds I saw in Providence, RI. First one is a robin but I'm not sure what the second one is.
