Rat I did last week. He had a ton of slip on his side and belly but I think he turned out alright otherwise. Hopefully my cats won't eat this one.

My next project for my art class is to make a bust with the head of an animal. My plan is to do a fox made out of burlap with its body being one of my old shirts and holding a taxidermy rabbit. It’s very ambitious but I think it’ll turn out super cool.
Nine rats so far. Probably going to make one more small one and be done with it phew.
Some wips of a set of clay rats inspired by teacups.
The one at the top is like a couple inches tall and was kinda an impulse decision to make but I like it a lot already. It’s still a wip but all I really have to do is give it eyes and ears before it gets fired.
The next one is the second one I made and it’s in like a sneaking pose I don’t know. I’m not a big fan of him. It has been fired and I will be glazing it in a couple days.
Next is the first one I made so it’s a little crude. It’s also been fired and I’ll be glazing it with the other one.
The third in the set I just finished today but I forgot to get a picture of it so I all have is that group picture with the other two. This one is really cute and I like how it turned out. It’ll still need to be fired though.
I’m not quite sure what I’m going to do after I glaze them, but I was thinking of using gold, silver, and copper leaf on them to give them a bit of flair. I’m not sure, I just feel like it’d really contrast what people tend to think about rats as being trashy but with the leaf it becomes classy.
Found a mummified(?) rat on the side of the road while I was walking home during my free period! I’m going to clean him up later probably.

MBTA Quick Reference
Here are three extremely common birds that most of us in North America see every day (and are likely to find dead at some point) which are legal to possess.
English Sparrow / European House Sparrow (Passer domesticus)
European Starling / Common Starling (Sturnus vulgaris)
Rock Dove / Rock Pigeon (Columba livia)

Well then. My cat got ahold of my mouse and ate his head. I cried about it a lot but this will just be a funny story in the future.
Big piece of pyrite I've had forever with the foot and skull from my mouse last week.
The first mammal I’ve done and I did it all by myself. It was a good learning experience and I think he turned out alright for a first try!
So what'd you do Friday night?

Going to start this blog off with some dead birds I saw in Providence, RI. First one is a robin but I'm not sure what the second one is.
